ORDINANCE NO, c 3~~
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 2108 WHICH
IMPOSED A MORATORIUM IN THE SOUTHEAST PORTION OF
THE CITY, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, in November of 1980 a water supply emergency in the
Southeast area of the City required the imposition of
a moratorium on new construction; and
WHEREAS, the voters in May of 1982 approved a bond issue to finance
the construction of a new reservoir and associated pipe-
lines to said Southeast area; and
WHEREAS, said reservoir and pipelines were placed in service in
April of 1985, and now, therefore,
THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The new construction moratorium in the Southeast portion
o ite City is hereby lifted on the effective date of this ordinance.
SECTION 2. Ordinance No. 2108 is hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. That inasmuch as the conditions under which Ordinance
oI._71_UF was adopted no longer exist, an emergency is hereby declared
to exist and this ordinance shall therefore be effective immediately
following its second reading and approval by.the Mayor.
SECTION Vii. The Director of Planning is hereby directed to forward
a copy otthis ordinance to the State Land Conservation and Develop-
went Commission.
The foregoing ordinance was first READ at a regular meeting of the
City Council on the 21st day of May 1985 and passed to its second
reading and duly ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council
on the 41* day of June, 1985.
