Public Contracting Officer From. Scott A. Fleury Date: 9-10-2013 Re: DETERMINATIONS TO PROCURE GOODS AND SERVICES FOR INSTALLATION OF A NEW HANGAR DOOR AT THE ASHLAND MUNCIPAL AIRPORT. Background The Fixed Base Operator (FBO) maintenance hangar door has been in disrepair for numerous years. The City has maintained the door as it is a City owned building at the airport. The FBO leases the hangar as part of a Council approved lease agreement. The City of Ashland Engineering Department sent out five requests for quotes using the intermediate procurement process to obtain services relating to replacing the Fixed Base Operator (FBO) maintenance hangar door. This project was approved through the budget process. The solicitations were mailed out on August 8, 2013 and responses were due by August 29, 2013 (reference attached form 42). The City tried to obtain quotes from Ausland Group, Batzer Construction, American Industrial Door, Adroit and Southern Oregon Steel. Only American Industrial Door submitted a response to the solicitation. The Engineering Department is proceeding with awarding a goods and services contract for the required work with American Industrial Door.
