For and in consideration of the sum of ONE DOLLAR ( 1.00),
the undersigned does hereby sell, transfer and convey unto the CITY
OF ASHLAND, a municipal corporation of Oregon, for street purposes,
the real,.property situated in said City of Ashland, County of Jackson,
State•of'Oregon, described as follows, to-wit:
A tract or parcel of land situated in the Southeast quarter
of the Southwest Quarter of Section 5, Township 39 South,
Range 1 East of the Willamette Base and Meridian, Jackson
County, Oregon, and being more fully described as follows:
Commencing at the quarter section corner common to Sections
5 and 8, said Township and Range, said point being monumented
with a 2 inch iron pipe; thence North 1,293.73 feet; thence
West 703.06 feet to a 3/4 inch galvanized iron pipe situated
at the right of way intersection of Grandview Drive and
Wimer Street, for the True Point of Beginning; thence
South 89059'15" West and parallel to Wimer Street, 225.57
feet to a 3/4 inch iron pipe; thence North 00030'20".West,
23.5 feet to Wimer Street; thence North 89059'15" East,
225.50 feet; thence South 00040'40" East, 23.5 feet to the
point of beginning.
The undersigned, HAROLD J. STRAUS, a single man, is the legal
and equitable owner of said real property. The undersigned hereby
warrants that said real property is free of encumbrances, except those
of record on the below date.
