THIS INDENTURE WITIESSETH: That Horace Goble and Annie
Goble, his wife, of the County of Jackson and State of Oregon,
for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty-five hundred Dollars
to us raid, have bargained and sold and by these presents do bar-
gain, sell and convey unto the City of Ashland, a munl_cipal corpo-
ration of Jackson County, Oregon, created by an Act of the Lagis--
lative Assembly of said State, the following described premises
situated and being in the ~.ounty of Jra,ckoon and State of Oregon,
to-wit: The west half of the southwest quarter of the northwest
quarter of section 16, Tp. :39, S. R. 1 E.
Excepting and reserving therefrom:-
(a) fix acres owned by G. 6' OroEVSOn and t2ealt't1y Crowson, his
wife, on October P.3rd, 1903.
(b) One acre as reserved by IT. .6. Carter and wife in deed dated
August 25th, 1803, w':ich said deed is recorded on page 95, Vol.
27 of Dt;ed Records o; Jackson County, Oregon.
(c) ti parcel of land 50 feet by 100 feet, heretofore sold by G, w"; .
vrc sort and Wealthy Crwoson to the City of Ashland, and now owned
by the City of Ashland.
(d) x parcel of land containing about one-fourth of an acre deeds
by the said G. W. Crowson and Wealt',y Crowson to one Teeters.
(e) The r. i`ht of the said G. W. Crwoson and Wealthy Crwosori, their
heirs and assigns, to a private roadway across the said described
premises as reserved in a. deed from the said Crooson and wife to
the grantors herein recorded in Volume 48 at page 387, D,:ed Records
of Jackson County, Oregon.
(f) Also excepting and reserving therefrom the riparian rights of
Ashland Greek as it floes through said land and also reserving a
right of way Lor the Ashland Electric Light and ?ower Company's
water ditch, :water flume, or water pipe across .)aid land, with
right of ingress and egress for constructing and repai_-ing the oame,
th--se reservations as to riparian rights of Ashland Creek and as to

right of way for water ditch or water pipe bein- made by the afore-
said G. W. Crowson and '.'Deal thy Crowson in a deed to grantors executed
October 23rd, 1303, and recorded in Vol. 48 at page 387, Deed Records
of Jackson County, Oregon.
TO HAVE, AND TO HOLD the said premises with their _ppurtenances

Gin this the 16th day of February, A. D., 1909, personally
came before me :1. P. Eggleston, Recorder of Ashland in said County
and State the within named Horace Uoble and Annie Goble, his ife,
to me personally known to be the identical persons described in
and who executed the foregoing, conveyance, and acknowledged to me
that they executed the same fraely for the uses and purposes therein
named.
Witness my hand and seal tiis the day and year in certificate
above written.

1 E.W.M. Said to be laid through said tract in a: northerly and southe--ly
direction and at the zjost convMknant points thereof but not so As to darn-
age or interfeer with any of the 'huildin€ s on said tract. The said Horace
Goble also agrees for the above consideration to dead to the said Stone
and Mosley their heir: or assigns a tract of land 100 feet east and west
and 150 feet north and south,the west line of which tract shall be ]OgBa<
east line; of the tract of land owned and lined by the City of Ashland as
an inta e for tkni its lower water system and shall extend 40 feet flirther
south than said tract so used by said citlt. And this; o?)tion is given for
the terra of two years and with the i0irther agreement that when a deed
for the a7ove described right and land ip~ called for the said Goble shall
be a ,.nred and secured to his satisfaction for a one inch tap in any
pipe line laid thrcau h said premises and the perpetual rise of water for
said tap from said pipe line.
And the= sn id Goble covenants that upon the fulfilment of the above

therefor,-provided the same is con iLmated within the said two years, bast
should said time expire and said considerations not been tendered,then
and in that event this option shall absolute be at an end and the said
Stone and Mosley have no claim rhatever,igainst said Croble opt the right
and land above described.
