RE: TGM Grant Application
The Ashland City Council fully supports the Traffic Growth Management grant application
the City is submitting to the Oregon Department of Transportation for funding our
Downtown Parking and Multi-Modal Transportation Study.
This study, identified in Ashland's 2012 Transportation System Plan (TSP) update process
as a high priority project, specifically addresses the improvement of multi-modal
continuity and examines the effectiveness of existing downtown corridor parking and truck
loading zones.
One of the goals identified in the TSP is to create a system-wide balance for serving and
facilitating pedestrian, bicycle, rail, air, transit and vehicular traffic in terms of mobility
and access within and through the City of Ashland. We feel this study is a great step
toward helping meet these goals and hope you will extend your support.
Sincerely,
ohn Stromberg,
Mayor
