He has written and lectured extensively on the subjects of soil and urban tree planting, and has been responsible for the introduction of many innovations and current standards relating to urban tree plantings and soil specifications. He has been a visiting lecturer at Harvard and many other universities, as well as presenting at conferences in the United States, Canada, Europe, Brazil, Australia, and South Bast Aria. Projects which Mr. Urban has completed include the Smithsonian Institution, the National Gallery of Art, the Hirschhorn Museum, the Martin Luther King! Memorial, Dumbarton Oaks, and the /National Mall Turf Reconstruction Project. The Tree Commission, thru a special grant, is bringing Mr. Urban here from Annapolis, Maryland to provide guidance and recommendations on the trees in Ashland. After reviewing the current condition and quality of the existing trees, doing soil probes, and evaluating what is and what is not working, Mr. Urban will present his evaluation and recommendations in this presentation to the 1-,wblic.
