By act of Congress dated August 3, 1949, "National Flag Day" was designated each year as June 14. • The Congress has requested the President to issue annually a proclamation designating the week in which June 14 occurs as National Flag Week.; _ Flag hay celebrates our nation's symbol of unity, a democracy in a republic, and stands for our country's devotion to freedom, to the rule of } all, and to equal rights for all. y s We pay our respect to all of the many veterans who have served the armed forces of their country. NOW, THEREFORE, I, John Stromberg, Mayor of Ashland, do hereby .
