ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE MORATORIUM ON PLANNING
APPLICATIONS AND BUILDING PERMITS IN THE GEOLOGIC
FLOODPLAINS FOR A PERIOD OF 90 DAYS; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, public hearings were completed on April 21 with respect to
the proposed criteria and standards for development in the
floodplain; and
WHEREAS, technical corrections need to be made to specific mapping
proposals and to proposed implementing ordinances which will
not be completed prior to the end of the current moratorium.
NOW THEREFORE THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 2483, the Floodplain Moratorium Ordinance,
is hereby amended by amending Section 8 thereof to read as follows:
"Section 8 Duration. This ordinance shall be in effect
until August 1, 1989."
Section 2. There being an immediate danger to the public health,
safety and general welfare, an emergency is hereby declared to exist,
and this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage by
the City Council and approved by the Mayor.
The foregoing ordinance was first read on the 2nd day of May 1989, and
duly PASSED AND ADOPTED this day of May, 1989.
