ORDINANCE NO. 2
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE
LOCAL GOVERNMENT REPORT ON
ADMINISTRATION AND ENFORCE-
MENT OF BUILDING SPECIALTY
CODES.
THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Building Division of the City of Ashland is to
administer the Electrical Specialty Code of the State of Oregon,
Section 2. Sec. 15.04.010 is hereby amended to read as follows:
"In addition to compliance with this and other ordinances of the
City, building and related activities shall comply with
provisions of the Oregon Structural Specialty and Fire and Life
Safety Code (1987 Uniform Building Code with Oregon Amendments),
with the State Mechanical Specialty Code and Fire and Life Safety
Code (1987 Uniform Mechanical Code with Oregon Amendments), with
the State Plumbing Specialty Code (1987 Uniform Plumbing Code
with Oregon Amendments) and with the State Electrical Specialty
Code (1987 National Electrical Code with Oregon Amendments). No
person shall conduct building or related activities without
compliance with these standards,
Section 3. The fee schedule attached hereto, noted as Exhibit
"A", and by this reference incorporated herein, is hereby adopted
by the Council as the fees required for Electrical permits in the
City of Ashland,
Section 4. There being an immediate danger to the public health,
safety, and general welfare, an emergency is hereby declared to
exist, and this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its
passage by the City Council and approved by the Mayor.
The foregoing Ordinance was first read on the day of
1989, and duly PASSED and ADOPTED this day of 1989.
