Ashland, Oregon, Oct. 7, 1919.
The council met in regular session at 7:3Q o'clock P.~C. on the evening of this date.
Present N:cGee, Nininger, Shinn, Frost; absent Banta, Turner.
Th? minutes cf the previous meeting were read and approved as corrected. j

~~r. Banta entered the room and took his seat at the council table.
Report of the Park Commission for the month of August, 191, reports of the City ~
Judge and Street Commissioner for the mont?~. of Sept., 1919, reports of the Recorder for
the months of Auly and August and report of the City Treasures for the quarter ending
Sept. 30th, 1919, were read. and on motion, accepted and ordered placed on file.
Bills O.K'd bar the Finance Committee and amounting to ~ 4,49~.h3 were read in total
- amount ohly. Bills covering the expense of two tripe taken by the Mayor and Council to
view the proposed ~eser~ioir site were also presented. Motion made and seconded that said bills be allaw~d and warrants ordered dra,~*n in payment thereof.

Contract bet~~een S. Clute and the City of .~shiand for the construction of
cement sidewalks on the west side of Fifth Street was read. rv~oticn made and seconded that. the contract as signed up be accepted. The vote was

Tha council next discussed t'r~e matter of building a shelter for the elk in the
Park. Moved by Shinn, seconded by Frost, that this matter be loft to the Realty
Committee with power to act. Carried.
Councilman Frost addressed the council stating that he thought the council should ' go an record as opposed to r1:ob violence and in favor of
Iaw enforeen~ent Aftr.-:r some
discussion it was moved by Frost, seconded by Shinn, that it be the sense of the counci
that they condemn all acts of lawl~.se violence by mobs all over this country. Carried.

collection thereof.` The ordinance having been read the first t1mg, on motion, the
