The minutes of the previous meeting were road a,nd approved as read.
Reports of Street Commissioner Fraley and Judge Brower for the month of Oct. last were read and, on motion, accepted and ordered placed on file.
Bills 0. K.' d by the Finance Committee, and amounting to ~4~, 5$7.97 were read in
total amount only. I~.~otion made: and seconded. that said bills be allowed and ~~a,rrants ordered
dravrn in payment thereof. The vote was as follows: Ayes Banta, Shinn, Frost; nays none;
absent McGee, Niningex, Turner. Carried.
Communication from F. F. ~nith in regard to insurance which he claimed he should have had but vrhi ch was paid to the City,' on account of a.

Drr.. Banta addressed the council in favor of establishing a water meter. rate stating

The rcuncil next proceeded to consider a propos,~d resolution entitled "Resolution
gaanting the privilege af' placing platform scales on Ash Street between Pion<rr Avenue
a.rzd Oak Street." The resolution having been read the first time, on motion, the rules
were suspended, two-thirds voting; in favor thereof and the resolution was passed to the
second readin Having been read the second time, roll call was ordered on the adoption

Thereupon the P~ayor declared the resolution adopted.

6$6 entitled "An ordinance to levy for municipa3 purposes a tax upon all the tax-
able property whin the corporate limits of the City of Ashland, Oregon, for the general expen~e~ of said city for the year 1920, and requiring the Recorder
to
notify the County Assessor and County Clerk of Jackson County, State of Oregon,
as required by Section 2 of Article 12 of the Charter of said City, an~~ iaws of
the State of Oregon. The ordinance having been read the first time, on motion; the
rules were suspended, two-thirds toting fn favor thereof, and the ordinance was passed

Reports of C.~I.Fraley, Street Commissioner, and D.M.Brower, Judge of the Cf~y
Court, for the month of November, 1.819, were read and, on. motion, accepted ar~d ordered
placed o~ file.
Bills C~.i:' d by the Finance Committee, amounting to ~ 4,1"4.59, were pr. scented
to the council. Motion-made and seconded that said bills be allowed and warrants '
ordered drawn f~ payment thereof. The vote was as follo~+s: Ayes Banta, ~`cGee,

Mr• Banta reported that Cdr. Freeman wishes to rent the City's two lots on B Street and recommended that_the the City grant his request. roved by

The council next discussed the matter of renting the blacksmith shop o~ned"hy
the city. Motion made and seconded that thi9 matter be left to the Realty Cor~rnittee.
Carried. ~Qotion made and seconded that said cornraittee also attend to having the
hitching racks on C and First Sts. repaired. Carried.
Attorney Roberts addressed the council stating that he was not prepared at this
time to submit an opinion as to whether or not the city could reassess the Nichols
property can Ferk Street, for the curb and gutter constructel on .said street, but he
thought'-the..,matter W" s'-doubtful.
The contract between the City of Ashland and Oskar Huber signed byOskar
Huber and the Mayor and Recorder, also accompanying bond of the Fidelity and.
Deposit Company of Maryland in the sum of $ 6,731.;0, were read to the council.
