Gilmore submitting a nu~ber of names for the new drive above her property, was read. P~doved by Nininger, seconded by Shinn, that the drive be officially designated Grand View Drive, as suggested by Mrs. Gilmore Ca~r.ried. Mr. Nininger reported. for the Street Committee on the request of C.B.Frencil, R. Yackey and others asking that a street be laid out and established at a point near the intersection of Grand View Drive and Wiener Street, Stating that the committee recommended that said request be granted. Thereupon it was moved by Banta, eeeonded by Nininger, that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare the proper papers pertaining to th.e legal opening of said street. Carried. Mr. Nininger brought up the matter of securing the services of M. B. Pinion for cemetery work and stated that Mr. Pinion asks far 40.{?4 per month beginning April let next. Mr• Nininger recommended that Mr• Pinion's request be granted. Moved by Shinn, ~aeconded by McGee, that the Chairman of the Cemetery Committee be authoriz~:d to hire Mr. Pinion at X40.00 per month. The vote was as follor~s: Ayes Banta, McGee, Nininger, Shinn; Haws none, absent Turner, Frost. Ca.rrmed. The Street Committee recorr~mended that the council grant the request of the parties living at 143 Granite street far permission to build retaining wgll in front of their praper.ty, said wall to cure around a tree On motion, Engineer Walker was instructed to make the necesary measurements and survey for. the proper curve. Cau ncilm an Banta asked that the council Set a price on part of the Hartley Tract recently purchased by the City. After some discussiar, the council fixed the price at ~1,p00.l~O.the purchaser to be given reasonable terms at six per. cent interest and the city to furnish a clear title.
