that the Council think it best to retain the bell at the Oak Street crossing rather

The council met in regular session at 8 O'clock P.~li• on the evening of this date.
Present Mayor Lardsin; Councilmen Banta, Frost, ~~cGee, Shinn; absent Nininger, Turner
Minutes of meetings of May 4th, 7th and 8th last ~rere read and approved as read.
s Requisition of F. E. Russill for one mattress for use at the power house was read. ~ Moved by Frost, seconded by Banta that requisition be
allowed. Carried.

to C. T. Payne. After some discussion it was moved by Frost, seconded by Shinn, that A the matter be left to the Realty Committee with power

~ Prof. I. E. Vining, E'. V. Carter and E. D. Briggs addressed the council asking that
the city enter int, an agreement with one Jesse ~inburn granting him the right to use
the surplus mineral water and gasses supplies by the Mineral water system for the purpose
of demonstrating and using the same for medical baths and medicinal purposes.

A proposed agreement, ..,prepared by E. D. Briggs, and covering the aforesaid matter was
next read to the council.After some discussion it was moved by Banta, seconded by Shinn, that the contract be granted and the Mayor and Recorder authoxizedCto

The vote was as follows Ayes: Banta, Frost, McGee, Shinn; nays none. arried.
Moved by Frost, seconded by Shinn that the council extend to Mr• Vining their heart-

Lynn ?~owat, Secretary of the Commercial Club addressed the council atb,ting -that
the hand ..wad planning on putting on a number of concerts and asked that the council
ffirs~.e~:an appropriation to help defray the expenses, As~.~.and's portion of which would
. amount to about X800.00. After some discussion the council decided to deter acti~in on

Mgt. McGee brought up the matter of granting Mr. Stennett a p~=rmit to remodel. the building on East ain Street occupied by L. Gartner. loved by
Shinn seconded by Banta
that said request be granted. The vote was as follows: Ayes Banta, Frost, McGee,
Shinn; nays none. Carried.
On motion, the council adjourned tv meet at the call of the mayor.

The council met at the call of the Mayor at 10:30 a' clock P.M. on the evening of
this date. Present Mayor Lamkin; Couilmen Banta, Frost, McGee, Shinn; absent
Nininger, Turner.
The proposed contract between the City of Ashland and Jesse ~inburn, which was favora':,~ly considered by the council at their previous meeting, having proven
unsatis-
fac~ory to I~r. ~inburn, r~r. Vining submitted a new contract for consideration at this
time. Under the terms of the new contract Mr• ~~b~urn ig granted the exclusive right
to the use of the surplus mineral waters and gasses as may be conducted from the
several mineral springs through the Auxiliary Mater System belonging to the City, for
the period of twenty-five years.
After some duscussion, it was moved by Frost, seconded by Shinn that the council
