After some discussion it was r,~o~red by Banta, seconded by Shinn tha'~ the Recorder be instructed to loo?s up the action t~ke~ by the' council approxurately ten years ago in this matter and if the proceedings are found to be legal that the City ~roceed~-to have said walk constructed without again going through the legal proceedings. The vote on the motion ~v~~s as follows: Ayes Banta, Frost, ?~~cGee, Nininger, Shinn; nays none. Carried. Councilman Nininger asked that now pipe be laid and the water extended into the new part of Mountain View Cemetery and that said pipe be secured from the ~9ater Dept. Motion made and seconded that the Water Supt. be instructed to kay:•approximately 300 feet of pipe in accordance with the wishes of the C~netery Committee, said work to be done at his earliest convenience. The vote was as follews~ Ayes Banta, Frost, lucGee, Nininger, Shinn; nays none. Carried. Heaved by Hanta, seconded by Shinn, that the bills for the month of June, 1920, be allowE~d and warrants drawn in payment thereof when when same hhall have been audited and approved by the Finance Comr~ittee. The vote was as fallowa~ Ayes Banta, Frost, McGee, Nininger, Shinn; rays none. Carried. Cit~r Engineer's estimate No. 4 of ~iount due Oskar Huffer on his contract for paving part of Ashland Street and the Boulevard was next considered. Mov€~d by Banta, seconded by ~OcGee that the Recorder be instructed to transfer 2, 200 from the dater Fund to Highway Grading and Paving Fund as a loan and that said bill be paid. The vote was as follows Ayes Banta, Frost, McGee, I~?ininger, Shinn; nays none. Carried. Loved by Nininger, seconded by Frost, that a Board of Viewers be~appointed by the council far the purpose of making assessment of ~ benefits an account of the paving of part of Ashland St. and the :~oulevard. The vote was as follows Ayes Banta, Frost, McGee, Nininger, Shinn; rays none. Carried. Thereupon the council appointed as such Board of~V,io weer I S~~oudy, W. A. Motion made and seconded that w1000 be paid on the bill of Mr. Jordan. The vote was as follows: Ayes Banta, Frost, McGee, Nininger, Shinn; nays none. Carried. Requisition of C.W.Fraley for brooms for the street department was read. Moved by Shinn, seconded by Banta, that the requisition be referred to the Street Committee with pow-~r to act. The vote was as follows: Ades Banta, Frost, McGee, Nininger, Shinn; nays none. Carried. ~r• McGee stated that the Finance Committee had authorized the Recorder to advance X25.00 for fare of an indigent man and his family to Marysville, Calif. Moved by Nininger, seconded by Frost, that the action of the Indigent Committee be confirmed. The vote was as follows: Ayes Banta, Frost, McGee, Nininger, Shinn; nays none. Carried. dir. Frost reported that the committee appointed to ir.~;estg~rte conditions at the Plaza ~~eat Market had done so and ~fir• hill the proprietor, had promised to clean up. The council met in re ular session at ~ 730 o'clock P.M. on the evening of thiq. In the absence of the Mayor, on motion, Mr. Banta was appointed Chairman of the Council and took his seat as presiding officer. .Roll call as follows: Present Councilmen Banta, McGee, Shinn; absent -'ayor Lamkin Councilmen Nininger, Turner, Frost.
