Present Mayor Lamkin, Councilmen Banta, B~cGee, Shinn; absent Trost, Nininger, Turner. ~~~:inute of the previous meeting were read and approved as corrected. The council discussed the matter of moving poles of ':'~estern Union Tel, Co. and Postal Tel Co• on ~7. ~a,in St• i~loved b,r Shinn, seconded by McGee that the necessary notice b~ prepared by the City Attorney and Served on the Western Union Tel. Cc• ~~rd Postal Telegraph Co. to remove their poles front North Main Street on the west side of ~loek 3, in the City of Ashla,hd, said pales to be removed ~dithin do days. The vote on the motion was as follows: Ayes Bar!ta, McGee, Shinn; nays none. Carried. Councilman Banta brought up the matter of renting the Penniston and Reeser properties, the city having acquired title to same, and recommended that the Penniston property be rented ~'or X10.00 per month. ~~oved by P~cGee, seconded by Sinn, that the mater of renting said properties be left in the hands of the Realty Committee with power to act. Carried. The council next discussed the matter of opening the alley back of Emil Peil's property. ~©ved by Shinn, sEC nded by McGee, that the City Engineer be in- structed to look into the matter of establishing an alley way in the rear of Block 1. Carried, The Water Supt. addressed the council in regard to dividing the city into districts far irrigation purposes. Moved by Shinn, seconded by ~,cGee, that the matter be deft to the eater Committee ~nrith power to act, provided said committee consult the council before discontinuing the spraying of lawns. l°.ov-~.... The council met at the call of .the Mayor at 9 0' clock A on this date for the pLlrpose of considering the water situation. Present l~a;~or Lakin Councilmen Frost, M~f~ee, Shinn; absent Banta, Nininger, Turner. . After considerable discussion iti was moved by Frost, seconded by Shinn that the ~Tater Supt. be empowered to divide the city into three or four districts and l shorten the hours for irrigation as he sees fit; also that he be given authority to grant special hours for isolated cases. Carried. Councilman Nininger entered the room and took his seat. at the council table. The Recorder was authorized t© cut out the charges for irrigating lawns and acre-age where use of water on same is discontinued. Councilman Frost asked to be excused and his request eras granted. '~ayor Lamkin brought up the matter of repairing the mineral pipe line running through the property of ~~r. Balis. 0n motion of Per. Shinn the Water Superintendent was instructed to purchase four or five hundred feet of wood pipe to repair said pipe line He was also instructed to make investigation and experiment to ascertain what kind of pipe is best suited to this purpose. Nii~ mo~~Y Moved by F~~, seconded by Shinn, that ~~r• Hosler be instructed to prepare a state~aent of the condition of the lithia pipe line and submit same at the next council meeting. The council discussed the matter of buying the Bogue place cn Water Street but no action was taken. U V! ~ l~t{~tr . The matter of getting deeds to to Wataon~Tractson Terrace Street was, on motion, referred to the Realey Committee with power to act. W. A~~_ Briggs asked that the council a~~rropriate a sum of money toward meeting the  expense of laying a hard wood floor in the Armory. No action was taken at this time. I.
