On r.~otic~n, the City Electrician ~~►~~s instructed to tape this natter up t-,~ith the "elephone Company to get their approval and , if possible get them to bear half the expense of moving said. pole line, the sane to be used jointly as at present. The vote was as follows: Ayes " Banta, 1;~cCree, Shinn; nays none. Carried. The council discussed tb.e matter of the proposed reservoir ir. Ashla:nd CrEek Canyon and called on Engineer P~alker for a report as to what had been done in the gray of pr.odlzring the necessary data. l~~r• ~Jalker addressed the council stating that he and the ?dater Superintendent ~r~ere making investigations from time to tir~je. Councilman ~3anta stated. that ~r. Forbes had bought the tax certificates of delin- q,, ency against the J. RFPVes property- at the corner ~ f ~~~`echanic and Laurel Streets, against which the 8ity ha,s a, lien, and that he had of. feted tc sell said certificates to the City at a reduction of X55.00. "ur• Banta recommended that the city purchase the ce tificates at the price asked by P.°r. Formes, narlely ~26]~.~Q. Moved by Shinn seconded by icGee that the recorrll~,endation of the Realty Committee in the matter be carried out, a,nd tr.e City Recorder be authorized to ~ranfer the necessary arrlaunt from the '~'la,ter F~.~nd to the 'eater Sinking Fcznd, the ee;~tfiea e to be paid for from the eater Sinking Fund. The vote ~xrtns as follows; Ayes Banta, McGee Shinn, nays none. Carried. ~~r. Banta stated that Mr. Pe~~~.ly. Eton wished a price to be set an t'r~e property on Holman Strut recently taken ever by the city. On motion of iu~r. Shinn tree Rea-lty Committee eras authorized to offer Penniston said property for are amount equal to that invested by the city. ~ ' pair. Banta brought up the matter of selling the Palet'rorpe property and recommended that the price be fixed at ~`~2, 000. l~uoved by Shinn, seconded by cGee that the Realty Committee be empoi~rered to sell said property far x'2,000, said. price to include commission The vote was as folla~=~s: Ayes Banta, ~!cuee, Shinn; nays none; Carried. R, Petition of H. 0. Frohbach and E. Lucile Frohbach asking that the city cause a part of Frohbach Addztion~, Asr.land, Oregon, }-a be vacated, was next read. The petitioners having duly posted notice of said petition ,according to law, anal no one appearing to made objection thereto at the hearing to be had at- 5 0' clock P.~. an this date, the council proceeded t~, consider a proposed city ordinance entitled " An ordinance vacating a part of Frohbach Addition, Ashland, Oregon." The ordinance having been read the first time, or. rr~otion, the rules were suspended, two-thirds voting in favor thereof and the ordinance was passed to the second r~-ding. Having been read the second time, roll call was ordered on theadoptio n of tre ordinance. The vote was ati follow: Ayes Banta, ~~cGee, Shinn; nays n ~~ne; ~.bsent Frost, Nininger, Turner. Carried. Thereupon the ~~ayor declared City Ordinance No.~ duly adopted. The council next considered the matter of th construction of cer~ent walks on the southerl side of A llisan Street. Communication from Mrs. Mattie B.
