~3 The council met in executive session at 7:3Q o'clock P.~~. on this date, Preaent
~ria~,~or Lamkin; Councilmen Frost, Ratner, Joy, Pierce, Shinn; absent Blake.
At 5:30 the regular order of business was taken up.
~l~~inutes of t~~e previous meeting were read and aprroved as read,
The council next proceeded to consider bids far fire hose submitted by Trios, H.
Simpson and A.G.Lon~r Co, of Portland, ~~~~r. Simpson submitted a bid of ~3 cents per
foot for 1 1/2" rubber hose, The A.G.Long Ca. surr~~aitted a bid of X0.95 cents per foot
for 1 1/2" inch ~~ax and Gum Treated Rose, The Fire Chief having recommende~.i that the ~y
City purchase the wax and Gum treatod 'ose, it was moved by Joy, seconded by Si~~inn
that the City accept the of.~er of the A.G.Long Co. The veto vas as folloVrs: Ayes
Frost, Ratner, Joy, Pierce, Shinn, nays none. Carried.
F The City Engineer submitted plans ~Iid specific.-<tions fox the construction of the
~ exterls-ion of Scenic Drive. I~laved by Frost , secon~.ed by Joy that the plans and
specifications be adopted. ~'he vote w~~s as follows: Ayes Frost, Hamer, Joy, Pierce,
Shinn; nags none. C-~rried,
. A petition signed by ro~siaents of i~~eade Street, asking that the council cause a
se~~~er to be cone ~ On motion of I~1r Shinn the petition tructe ~ on said street, `Ja,s regd. ~va,s referred to the Sanitary Committee and
City Engineer to report at ~_:.ext meeting.
On motion the Recorder was instructed to :advertise for bids for the construction
of the extension of Scenic Drive and June 7th at S o`clock P.M was designated as the e
time for the openirr~ of the aids.
A corrlim~unic~tion from Engineer D.C.Henny relating to the water problem was next read. moved by Joy, seconucl by cost tr~at the city defer the
matter of putting in a
settling tank at least this year, The vote ~ra.s as "ollows: Ayes Frost, Horner, Joy,
Pierce, Shinn; nays none. Carried,
I~1r. Frost brought up the matter of ~kten:iing the city's line in order to furnish
ligrit~s to Yockey, French end several other families, On motion of 1~1r. Joy the City
Electrician eras instru~~ed to loo~T the ground over with Frost and to report at the
next meeting. I~,~ .
. Shinn staked to be excused an_j_ his request wa,s granted.

Glenview Drive., On motion of ~~~r. Joy this matter v~~a,s referred to the Realty Committee ,p
for investigation and report.
