Present Mayor Johnson; Councilmen Burdic, Detrick, F~rdy, Peters, Wiley, Fright; absent none. P~irlutes of the previous meeting were read a.nd approved as corrected, Bill of a~21~, 5~ for express charges anti pos ~~age paid by the Recorder was presented, Moved by Burdic, seconded by Hardy that said bill be allowed, The vote was as fc1lo~~ts: Ayes Rurdic, Detricl~, iiard~r, Peters, ~~'iley, ?right nays none, Carried. =q ~t Frank Jordan asked that the City order pipe to rerair tie soda and lithia pipe lines Af tex some discussion tree ~Yater supt. war instructed to get prices on cast Iran cement lined pipe, Councilman ?hardy asked for information regarding the authorization for the eon:~truction ~t of the water ditch to bring water from the Frnigrant Creek Dare. After some discussion it was mloved by Burdic seconded by Hardy that the work already done in the matter of constructing tr~e ditch be ratified and further continuance of the work under the same plan be authorizes F until further orders. The vote on the motion was as follows: Ayes Burdic, Detrick, Hardy, Peters, Wiley, Wrigrit. nays none; Carried. ~ ' the o~mers of k~° ~A r ~ ~-`t. Mr. W.W.Hendry pre~~;nted a petition signed by/at least t~vo-thirds of the frontage on Union Ctreet, asking that the City vacate trla~t portion of the street lying between Ioc~a ~~A, "treat and Auburn "treet. Moved by Detrick seconded by peters teat tYle ml.tter be held over till the next meeting. Carried. rdr. E.M.Reese addressed the council asking that Alida "treet be improved. On motion ° of Burdic, seconded by Hardy the "treet Cornlr~issioner was instructed to look the situation over and report at a later date, rploved by ~'rig~~t seconded ~y Hardie that the Ordinance Committee be instructed to F ~ p r ~ have an ordinance dram pro riding for th~ vacation of P~aite ~;tre~t, The vote was as follows: Ayes Burdic, Detrick, Hardy, Peters, Wiley, aright. days none. On oration the cor~nittee eras instructed to continue their investigation and to find some means if possible of solving the problem, Rix k w~ The fo~o~ing ordinance was next prE}sented ;"An ordinance rewiring the payment of a license fee by proprietors of billiard and pool halls; providing for the revocation of any license issued by the Recorder and providing a penalty for failure to pay the license fee as henein set forth." Mayor Johnson and Councilmen Peters, p~'iley and P,'right expressed themselves as favoring a license fee of ~25.r~ per annum for each table, Councilmen Burdic, Detrick and Hardy favored a license fee of ~12.5o per table, After some discussion a license fee of ~~15,0o per table ~~~as agreed upon. The ordinance was ' then read the first time. Motion- was mane and seconder that the rues be suspended and the ordinance passed to its second re~.~ing, Ca~'ried. Having bden read the second tine, roll call was ordered on the adopt ion of the ordinance. The vote was as folla~~s: Ayes Burdic, Detrick, Hardy, Peters, Wiled►, Wright; nays none. Thereupon tae r~ayor decla:'ed City Ordinance No. ~o i adopted. ~x =j The matter of providing for the care of the public toilets in the City Hall was ~ ~y referred to the ~`anitary Committee. It eras moved by Burdic seconded by Hardy that the Chief of Police be instructed to purchase a 125 Model Chevrolet touring; car to be paid for from the General Fund upon the receipt of ,tax money from the County Treasurer.
