y r~r. Acklin ai:~~ressed the coupeil, objecting to the payment of a city Taxi licopse on
the g~o~nd that num~;rous persons in the city were doing taxi work without a license.
On notion, the Chief of Police t~ras instructed to put a notice in the paper stating that anyone doind taxi work ~~yithout a license would be prosecuted.

Minutes of the previous meeting v~~~re read and approve. as read.
Ti~1e checl~ and salaries O,K'd by the Finance Corarriittee, amounting to ~5,Q7~.~7
were read in total amount only. ~~otion ma?e any seconded that said bills be a11owE~:d and
3 warrants ordered drawn in payment thereof. The vote was as follows: Ayes Burdic,
Detricl~,, Hardy, Peters, Ailey, ~rigx,t; nays none. Carried.
Councilmen I3uuruic xeported that approxim.~~tely ~~000 of pipe had been ordered for
the syphon over ~'!imer Hill.

F A. C. Nininger presented a petition, signed by lQl business men and women of Ashland
asking that the council repeal City ordinance TJo. SOl.providing for the licensing of
billia~.~d and pool ha13s, l~r. A.C.Ilinin~;er addressed the council in support of the petition. "M
Rev. Allison, Rev. Cheney, Rev, ~ergl~;r, ~~ayor Johnson and others spoke 3ga,inst the rev~~ca-
tion of t~~.e license and repeal o~f the ordinance. Moved by Wiley seconded by wright~that
the petition be laid on the table indefinately. The vote wa.s as follows; Ayes Durdic,
Detrick, hardy, Peters, ~6'iley, ~`ri~ht; nays nave, Carried. F
