amount. only. j~otion made and seconded that said bills be allov~red and warrants ordered
drawn in pay~ent the.r.eof. The vote was as follows: Ayes Burdic, Detrick, Peters, ~,'~i1ey,
Wright; nays none. Carried.
The council next considered a cor~~rnunicat .on fro.l firs. Fdna Brad'ourn askin~~ that
the City eithe~~ purchase her tract of land in Ashland Creek Canyon or grant her permission
to cut t]Ze tl.,~bei'. Motion made anc~ seconded that ]1~rs. Bra,dburn ,oe granted permission to c,.~t the tirn'oe~° on hen property. Carried.

and seconded that notice of the in _enta.on of the council to extend said stneetd be
published. Carr:~ed unaalirnously. On notion o.f Peters seconded by Burdic dir. Detrick was
appointed a cal. L ittee of one to interview the rote~~ested parties with a view to securing options on t]Ze properties desired.
On reco,~~nendat:i,~~n of the ,ayor it was Moved by C~iley seconded by Wright that
cor;~rnittee of three be appointed to confer with such persons as t]Zey nay deem advisable
in regard to the expenditure of a certain mount of the a<,oney left by ~r. C.W.Root to
the City to put the Chautauqua Building; in good c~~ndit1.on. Carried. The ]~;ayo:I° appointed
as such cor:inittee Councilmen Detric'_~, Waight and Wile~T.
The matter of allowinJ a portion of the fountain View CerleteV~~r Tract to be used ~
for gardening eras left with i_he Cemei~e.;°y Committee with power to act.
The council next read a co:~.~unication from C.A.iuialone, ~.R.Hosler and C.t~1.F-~aley
} ask inj~; that iir► ?aalone be appointed Ci .Y Purchasing Agent. Jeioved by Burdic seconded by
Detrick that the City Attorne be in~tc .ed to prepare a resolution creating aPurchasing Y

up in the CanVron. ]~r. D.]:~.Zowe and others a.~.so addressed the council asking that the
City assist tr~e:~ in keeping their cattle out of the ~~raters]~ed by chancing the fence and
~Alaintainin; sale. ~ot~ion made and seconded that triis rllatter be left to he Water Cor~u:littee
for investigation and report at the next council ~reetin~. Ca:,~ried.
A ca,munication from~r _uc~Tab'o was next read regarding an incy^ease in his ala:y beginning Jan 1. 192.
On motion, indigents now rece:ivin~ free ~r~ter~~~xid lights were g_~anted six .uonths
additional at the pleasuxe ~f the council.
On motion, the council adj ourned tomeet I:ionday, Oct. l2th at the usual hour.
