"Jri~ht, Chairman of the Council, presided. The hour of S o'clock having; arrived, the council proceeded ~vith the hearing of any objections to the proposed vacation of portions of ~Tonroe Avenue, Zeonard Avenue and Ashland Street. No one appearing to make objections thereto the council proceeded to consider a proposed city ordinance encitled "Ordinance vacating that portion of Ashl~}nd Street commencing with the intersection of the ~~~est side line of Indiana Street ~ with Ashland Street and thence tivest to a point '793.5 feet wept of the intersection of the ~~~~est side line of 'r~~ightman Street with Ashland Street, in the City of Ashland, Oregon, and directing the City Recorder to certify a copy of this ordinance to the County Clerk for record." The ordin~~.nce having been read the first time, on motion, the rules ~~,rere suspended four voting; in favor thereof, and the ordinance ~'lus passed to the second reading. Having been read the second time, roll call 1'las ordered on its adoption. The vote ~~~as as follows: Ayes High, Peters, '~~'i~ey, ;"Jri~;ht; nays none. Thereupon the acting mayor declared the ordinance T~1o. X15 adopted. The council next proceeded to consi~d.er a proposed ordinancece entitled "Ordinance vacating that portion of heonard Avenue lying between the south line of Ashland Street and the north side line of ~iadrone Street in the City of Ashland, Jackson County, Oregon, and directing the City Recorder to certify a cagy of this ordinance to the County Clerk for record." The ordinance having been read the first time, on motion, the rules tflere suspended, four voting in favor thereof, and the ordinance was passed to the second. readin~~. Thereupon the acting Mayor declared the ordinance adopted. ~l~) The council next proceeded to consider a proposed ordinance entitled. "Ordinance vacating that portion of Monroe Avenue between the south line of ~~shland Street and the north side line of l,~iadrone Street in the City of Ashland, Jacj~~son County, Oregon, and directing the City Recorder to certify a copy of this ordinance to the County Clerk for record." The ordinance having been read. the first time, on motion, the rules were sus- pended, four voting in favor thereof, and the ordinance eras passed to the second reading. Thereupon the Mayor declared City Ordinance No• gl" adopted.° On recommendation of the City Attorney, it ti~raU moved by '~`~iley seconded by High that the recorder be authorized to pay the bill for title insurance policy for I,ot 1, Helm's Addition to the City of Ashland, Oregon. Present ~ Mayor Johnson; Councilmen Hardie, High, Peters, ~+iley, T~','ri~ht; absent Hardy. i ,linutes of the r~eetin~s of Tyov. 34d, 13t~i, 17th and 25th were read and approved as corrected. ~I sus The council next proeeede~ ~~iththe hearing; on the buabet for the year 1926. No one appearing to make objection thereto the council proceeded to consider a proposed ordinance .entitled 'T Ordinance levying a tax for the year 1925 in the sun: of~64,633.15 upon all the real and personal property subject to assessment and taxation within the limits of the City of Ashland, Jackson County, Oregon, said levy to be made up of the particular appropriations mentioned herein." The ordinance having been read the first time, on motion, the rules were suspended, five voting in favor thereof, and the ordinance tiaras passed to the second reading. .Having been read the second time, ~°oll call ~~as ordered on the adoption of the ordinance. Groves for a refund on his pool room license was presented. Moved by C'u'rught seconded by ';uiley that said refund be allowed. Carried.
