The council met at the call of the Mayor at 7I,30 o'clpck P.T,~. on this date. Present :,=ayor Johnson; Councilmen Hardie, High, Peters, T~:ylor, ~'a'iley,'~'Vright; absent none. The r eac.ing of the minutes of the previous meeting was dispensed ~vith. fotion made and seconded that the council open under the head of new business. Carried. The City Attorney reported that the three banks of the City hd~~ offered to buy the entire issue of Sidewalk Dist. No. 3 bonds on a basis of 5 0. I~~~oved ry Taylor seconded by High that the City ~l~e-G~~~► sell said issue of bonds to the local banks on a 5~ basis. Carried unanimously. The council next proceeded to consider a resolution entitled "Resolution authorizing the issuance of an order or note of the City of Ashland, in the sum of Thorty-five Hundred Dollars 03,500.00) pursuant to authority granted in Section 3 of Arricle VII of the Charter of the City of Ashland, Oregon, such note to be issued for the purpose of providing fu~ids for the use of the street department of said City.t1 The resolution having been read the firs~~~ time, on motion, the rules were suspended, six voting in favor thereof, and the resolution was passed to the second reading. Having been read the second time: roll call was orrered on its adoption. The vote was as follows; Ayes Burdic: High, Peters, Taylor, Ailey, ~'Jright; nays none. Thereupon the l~~.yor declared the resolution adopted. 7 n 11 The council next too up ~:th„ report of C.A.~w~alone on the tinter proposition. After some discussion it tivas moved by Buy°dic seconded by Taylor that the council rescind the motion made at the meeting held Aug. loth, 1926, regarding the pusrhaae of 400 addtton~l acre feet of water from the Talent irrigation District. Carried unanimously. Moved by Taylor seconded by Wright that the council place on the ballot eft the November election the proposition of purchasing 200 additional acre feet of water from the Talent Irrigation District.
