Ashland, Oregon, Nov. 3, 1926.
The council met pursuant to last adjournment at 8 o'c~.ock P.Ar2. on this .date.

~~~inutes of the previous meeting ti~rere read and approved as corrected.
Reports of C. A. Iialone and E. R. Hosler for the month of October, 1926, were read
and, on motion, accepted and ordered placed on file.
Bills O.K.'d by the finance Committee, amounting to x'10,752.65, were read in total
amount only. Motion made and seconded that said bills be allowed and warrants ordered
drawn in payment thex°eof. ':one vote was as follows: Ayes High, Peters Taylor, Wiley, `~Jright; nays none. Carried.
Motion made and seconded that the Recorder be authorized to transfer X1200 from the
Electric Light Fund to Pav. Dist. No. 5 Fund temporarily ~.s a loan, Carried unanimously.
On motion the penalty assessed against the delinquent sidewalk assessment of H.Z.
ti'~hited was remitted.
Request of Elmer I~Ioz~rison for permission to sonstruct a small concrete dam on
his Ashland St. property and to construct a small reservoir between this dam and the
fill on Ashland Street ti^ahero it crosses a small gulch vras read and on motion referred to
the City Engineer and eater Superintendent for investigation and report.
The Fire Department bonds having been voted it was moved by Taylor seconded by
High that the City Recorder be instructed to advertise for bids for fire equipment after having received a revised estimate of the requirements from the
Fire Chief. Carried.
l,Loved by Peters aeeonded by Taylor that rEs. ~~Ierrill be authorized to proceed with
the improvement of the hill. on Grant Street as soon as possible. Carried.
14ioved by High, seconded by Wiley that the Council resolve itself into a Budget
Committee. Carried.
The Budget Committee, consisting of T. H. Simpson, ~I. Shoudy, J. H. ~2cGee,
S. B. R~ZcNair, A. E. Ikinney, R. D. Briggs and C. C. Weisenb~msger then proceeded to elect
~V. Wright Chairman and S. A. Peters Secretary of said committee.
The ~~'~~e~ed~hudget for the year 1927, as prepared by the Finance Committee and
Recorder was next read, It was moved by Simpson seconded by Briggs that the Budget as
recommended by by the Finance Cammi~~tee be adopted. Carried unanimously.
I~Zotion made and seoonde~duhat the Recorder be instructed to have the budget published i,
and that Friday, Nov. 26th, 1926, be seta the time for the final hearing on the budget.
Carried.
On~vmatl~n, Ira Shoudy, E. J. grant and J. Isl. Slack were appoin~~ed a Board of Viewers
to determine and assess the special benefits incident to the construction of a sewer in
Se;yrer Dist. No. 28. Wednesday, Nov. 10th at 2 O'clock p.m. and the intersection of --iountain ~.ve. and Iowa Street vras fixed as the time and place
vrhen said Viewers shall
meet and proceeded to assess the special benefits.
On motion, Ira Shoudy, E. J. Ararat and J.~Z.Slack vrere appointed a Board of Viewers
to assess the special benefits incident to the construction of a sevrer in Sewer Dist.

said viewers.
I~~iotion mane and seconded that the I~ia`ror be instructed to invite the newly elected
Mayor and Council to meet with the present council at their meeting to be held from the
present time, to the end of the ,year. Carried.
Moved by Taylo~~• seconded by High that her. Dillard be authorized to proceed with
a more careful investigation of both dam sites and estimate of cost, and that I,1r. 'dValker
be instructed to notify T~o4r. Dillard of the action of the Council. Carried, unanimoualy.
On motion. l~s. Hosler was authorized to make an estimate of the amount of pipe
necessary to use for the extensions that have been approved hip the recent election in
order that he may be ready to place the order at the proper time.
On motion, the Recorder vras instructed to advertise for bids for one coat of paint
on the hospital. Carried unanimously.

to repair the hospital porches at a cost of .~~65~00. Carried.
The council next proceeded to consider an ordinance entitled " Ordinance requiring the
transfer to the Street Fund on the first day of e~.ch ana every month, hereafter.
beginning with the first day of December, 1926, of ~-,er cent of ~e gross receipts of
the electric Light Department for the preceding calendar month. The ordinance having

Thereupon the ayor declared City Ordinance No. adopted. ~ ~

Fund ~n the notes due the City

The election returns having been received this day, motion v~~as made and seconded
that the Cou:~cil resolve itself into a canvassing board to canvass the returns of the
4~' election held Nov. 2nd, 1926. Carried.

Thereupon, and immediately following such canvass, the mayor did proclaim the
