engineers Kenney and villard addressed the council regarding the progress of their
investigation of the netiv vrater project.
On motion, the council returned to the regular order of business.

The Realty Committee repo°ted that- they had a:uthor~z~ed~~p7s.:'.~':~J.S~•~nning to give the
hospital t^~~~o coats of faint ~-~rhere needed at a total cost of x;;299.00. The commit tee also ,
reported having secured an option on the ten acre tract of land adjacent to the Lithia
Spring. On motion, the report was accepted and Engineer ~rJalker instructed to survey the
land in question. x.~.~
Engineer `~,"talker stated that he and the 4rater Supt. h~.d investigated the reaAuest of Elmer T,rorrison regarding the building of a small reservoir on
Ashland Street and recommended
.ghat the request be not granted.
Councilman Taylor reported that after having tested out the i~~oreland, Studebaker and
Reo fire trucks, the Fire Committee has given the contact for the body to the Holvard
Cooper Co. and the contract for the Chassis to the Reo Co. He also reported the purchase
of additional equipment, including nozzles and now parts for the old truck. The total ano~nt~'of bonds to be issued, inc.lu~.ing w150.00 for changing
the building to hold two
trucks and the expenses of the Fire Chief and Fire Committee to Portland, was reported to
be x'7,5000.00. ~~~oved by Burdic seconded. by ~Jiley that the council approve the purchase
of all equipment including the truck. Roll call as follows: 1Lyes Burdic, High, Peters,
T-~ylor, Wiley, ~`~~~right; .~`-.nays none. Carried.
~~loved by Taylor seconded by High that the City Attorney be amthorized to secure an
option on the land needee for the reservoir site oll Crowson Nill. Carried unanimously. t''~'"G.i.`,~ a
City ~ngne~er Briggs reported having secured a right of way on I~,~rs. Fay's property I~
on a basis of X60.00 and stated the deed would be ready soon. I
The matter of furnishing; the chamber of Commerce vrith trucks and men to aid them in
decorating the streets for Christmas vas referred to the heads of the '~e~'~~ter, .Electric Light
and Street departments.
On motion, the council adjourned to meet Friday, iTov. 26th at the usual hour.

Y~~ayor Johnson; Councilmen Peters, Taylor, ti~Jiley~ ~'~ri€;ht; absent Burdic, High.

The hour of 8:30 o'clock having, arrived, the council proceeded vrith the hearing of
a~ly objections to the proposed budget for the year 1927. °:`~r. Dodd addressed the council
objecting; to the transfer of funds from the Electric %ight Fund to the Street Fund.
r~Ioved by ti'diley seconded by `~'~right that the Budget, ~~s read, be adopted. The vote on the motion resulted as follows Ayes Peters, Taylor,
~~~iley, '~~Jright; nays none. Carried.
~;s. and Liss. George Spencer addressed the council asking that an ordinance be passed
regulating the keeping of chickens within the city limits. They also ~a.sked that the
council investigate the condition of the E.O•Smith chicken ranch opposite their property
on Oak Street. On motion of Taylor seconded by ~dJri~-ht this matter tivas referred to the
Sanitary Committee for investigation and report.
