~ ~ r The council met, ,pursuant to last adjournment, at 12,30 o clock A.M. on this
~ date. Present t~,'~ayor Pierce; Councilmen Bergner, Peters, Thornton, `'Voods; absent Kay,
White.
The reading of the minutes was dispensed with.
The bids for furnishing pipe and fittings having been fully considered, it was moved b y Bergner seconded by Thornton that the City accept the bid
of the Unite
States Gast Iron Pipe alid Foundry Company for cast iron pipe as follows:
List 1-A- Centrifugal Cast Iran Pipe -Total-------------X23,703.62
List 2- Cast Iron Pipe Fittings, total 1,796.60 all f.o.b.
Ashland, Oregon. Carried.
1~~oved by Bergner seconded by Woods that the City postpone for further investigation
and report Lists 3 and 4, 'dater Valves and I~ydrants~ also List 5- Regulating Valves 11
Mr. Holler to notify the ~~~ayor when to call meeting of the council to accept bids.

The council met in regular session at 7:30 o'clock P.M. on this date. Present
~~~ayor fierce, Councilmen B~~rgner~ Kay, Peters Thornton, ;`roods; absent White.
l`:inutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
Bills O.K.'d b the Finance Committee, amounting to X15,326.27, were read in ~ y
total amount onl~r. Ii~otion mace and seconded that said bills be allowed and warrants
ordered drawn in payment thereof. The vote ~t~as as follows: 'ayes Bergner, Kay, Peters,
~'hornton, Woods; nays none. Carried
Communication from Billings ~~gency was next read in ti~Jhich they ask that in the
specifications for-the reservoir jobs it be clearly stated that any bonds or insurance
which is required of the contractor be carried with an agent residing in ~~shland. No j
action was taken,

Claim of J. R. Pittenger for X100.00 damages sustained through loss of a cow
which was killed b y coming in contact with the City`s electric light wires was. read 12
. , and on motion of ~~~oods seconded by Kay turned over to the Finance Committee for adjust- ment.
Communication from ~~.J.Olsen, ~extOn of Cemeteries , recommending that a drain file
be laid on the south sine of Sections 11 and l2 in Fountain Viewe Cemetery was read and I3 I,
on motion referred to the Cemetery Committee with power to act. that the City
The council next proceeded to consider a petition signed by 20 tax payers asking ~ i
improve and gravel the small piece of road coming into ~~iain Street near the cti~est limits
of the City, eommonl~T kno~yn as the Ashlana Tine Road. ~~~r. F. D. ',Magner was present and ~I
j~ addressed the council in support of the petition. He stated that a new main route out
of Ashland takes in this section and the continuance of the mail-service hinges very

Communication from the Directors of the Bellview School, asking that they be
furnished ~vith City water was read and on motion of Kay seconded by 't~loods, referred to 15
the Water Committee for investigation and report.
Report of the Auditing Committee, stating that they have examined the accounts of
the Treasurer, Recorder and Park Commission for the year 1926, and found the same to be
correct was read.
Moved~by Bergner seconded by Thornton that the Recorder be instructed to transfer
;7,000 from the ~Jater Works Construction Fund to the Lithia Pipe Line Fund as a loan.
Carried.

Councilman Thornton brought up the matter of improving the City Hall. He recommended
that the Hall be painted and kalsomined and that better lights be provided. The cost of
re-wiring the City Hall building, in accordance with the recommendation of lb? Malone,
he said would be approximately y?250.00. Moved by 'roods seconded by Kay that the matter 16 of rew-w rng and re-decorating the City-Hall be left
to the Finance Committee with power
to act. Carried unanimously.
