~,~oved by Woods seconded by Feters~ that the council also declare the following
water policy:
That the summer and fall of 1927 be devoted to~the clearing of Reeder Gulch dam site, building of a new road around the dam, assign of dam,
exploration of rock, gravel, sand and other concrete materials in
Canyon, and every detail of preparation advanced as rapidly as possible
that contract may be let and the dam completes during the 1928 season,
subject to future detailed recommendations of the engineers.
The vote on the motion was as follows: Ayes- Kay, Peters, White, Woods; nays-
Bergner, Thornton. Carried. Ti~ayor Pierce stated that he also wished to go on record as approving the policy.

Councilman Tharnton,,stated that he was not opposed to the building of the dam but
thought the other propositions should first be tried out.

for Jan. and Feb. be accepted and ordered placed on file. Carried.
Pbf?oved by VJaods seconded by Peters that the council accept the offer of the Ashland
Tidings to publish the last two reports of ~~r. Henny and ~J~r. Williams in installments,
without cost to the City, Carried.
Ie2oved by Peters seconded by Woods that the Council extend a vote of thanks to
the Ashland Tidings for their liberal offer. Carried.
Councilman Thornton brought up the matter of the possible removel of the electric
light poles on East ~7ain Street to t:~e rear. 24

committee for investigation and report. Carried. . J

Ashland, Oregon, Feb. 17, 1927.
The council met at the call of the mayor at 7 o'clock P.1~2. on this date. Present
~~ayor Pierce, Councilmen Bergner, Kay, Peters, Thornton, V'Jhite, Woods; absent none. A
~,~ayor Pierce stated that Engineer Dillard asked for more authority before going
ahead with the program on hand.
It was moved by Peters seconded by ti'Goocts that F. C. Dillard, Supervising Engineer
h be authorized to proceed at once with the pr~.paration of all final plans and specific~-
tions for the construction of the Reeder Gulch Dam and appurtenant works; and all necessary expenditures in connection there~rith is hereby authorized,

compe$sation to be determined by the council at the earliest possible date. Moved

to pay. Carried. The vote vn the original motion was as follows: Ayes Bergner, Kay,

Loved by Peters seconded by ~~~oods that ~~r. Walker be appointed City Engineer during

I~~ioved by Bergner seconded by Woods that the Plater Superintendent be authorized to
accept bids and award a contract for hauling the pipe which is to be received soon, the
s~ bid when accepted to be turned over to the Finance Committee so the bills can be properly
checked. Cox°ried.
