They found that this would consume too much current 38 he said but had instructed ~,ir. I,alone to put in two poles with 7r~sc~ lights each. ~t h~oved by Bergner seconded by T~'~oods that the council ratify the action of the committee. Carried. . T~toved by Feters seconded by 'foods that the Council rescind the motion ~~.doptec~ 1~2arch r°, 3rd stopping the work on the Canyon road. The vote on the motion liras as follo~vs: Ayes 39 Bergner, ~;a,-,~, Peters Thornton, y'~lhite, "~~~oods; nays None. Carried. The matter of the complaint of Sherman Fowell regarding the ~,~'iillion Ditch was again 40 discussed. It was moved by Bergner seconaed by '~~~~hite that this matter be referred to the City Attorney with instructions to communication Frith l;x. Hersey to see if a settlement can be reached. Carried. The council next proceeded to consider the bids submitted for the construction of the Crolirson ?~i11 reservoir. The total amount of each bid submitted was as follotivs: ~Y~' H. C. High X26,333.30 C. Councilman Feters brought up the matter of the request of Gerald Gunter that the 41 City furnish the to drain ~~'~alnut Street near his property. This matter was referred to ~y`. the City ~~ttorney for investigation. The request of B.F.Blue that Taylor Street be opened v~ras referred to the Street Comm- , 42 ittee with power to act, all voting in favor thereof. Dr. Woods stated that he had looked up the Ordinance governing dairies and found it would be unnecessary to pass another ordinance. It was moved by a'Joods seconded by White 43 that the Recorder be notified to put a short notice in the paper calling the attention of milk dealers to the provisions of the ordinance requiring the registering of co~~~s and notifying them that all cows must be registered by April 1st. Carried. The matter of repairing the fence surrounding the small pasture at the septic tank tract 44 was referred to the Sanitary Committee. f Councilman`~Yooas also reported that the Sanitary Committee had investigated the com- plaints of residents of Harrison and Iowa Street regarding the unsanitary condition of the ti`daite dairy. They found, he said, that ~+ir. 4$~aite was not complying with the law regul- 45 ating dairies but the committee would notify ~~~~r. €~raite to clean up before reporting the matter to the Dairy Commission. Councilman Thornton reported that I~~r. ~,~alone had called his attention to the b~.d con- dition of pipe connected with the electric fire alarm system which necessitates the pump- 46 ing of air continually and consumes an excessive amount of current. ~r~otion made and seconded that this matter be referred to the Fire and Electric Light Committees for inves- tigation as to the cost of installing an electric siren. Carried. City Attorney Briggs stated that he had investigated the complaint of Sherman Fowell regarding the ~~illion Ditch and ~'a~rid that it was not dangerous and he was of the opinion 47 that it eras a matter that should be settled by ~~~r. Po~rrell and ~s. Hersey. ~4~ioved by Thornton seconded by ~~lhite that the matter of repairing the ditch be laid on the table. Qnd~:-thd ~:ity l~.ttorney's report be accepted. Carried.
