Present Mayor Pierce, Councilmen Bergner, Kay, i'eters, Thornton, White, foods; absent none. ~:2oved by Thornton seconded by Moods that the bid of Rhodes ~ Judd of x;23,800.23 for building the Crowson Hill reservoir be accepted and the contract awarded to them, Swartley Bros. bond to be held until Rhodes ~ Judd's bond is posted. The vote on the motion 48 was as follows: Ayes: Bergner. Kuy, Peters, Thornton, 1~`dhite, ~~doods; nays none. Carried. Report of C . x. Isalone for the month of February, 1927 , i,~as read and on mot ion, ~x, accepted and ordered placed on file. Bills O.K'd by the Finance Committee, amounting to X2366.94, ~~Tere read in total amount - only. I~~otion made and seconded that said bills be a1lo~red ~:.nd warz°ants ordered drawn in payment thereof. The vote on the motion ~~;ras as follows: Ayes Bergner. Kay, Peters, Taylor ~~'~hite, V'doods; nays : ~~Fone. Carried. A communication from r~~rs. ~Iarriet Fielding, asking that the Gity provide fuel etc. for the Ilye family on Granite St, tiR~as read. Councilr~an Thornton stated that ~Irs. ~~cNair end others had investigated this case and would endeavor to send them to relatives. The re~u.est of C.L.~~imer for permission to erWet an electric sign on the corner of Thiz'd and i~~~ain Streets was read and on motion of ~~'doods seconded by Kay referred to the 4g Street Committee with poh~er to act. City would either have to overhaul the old Councilman Thornton stated that the~Flectric light service truck or purchase a new one. The cost of overhauling the old truck, he said,would be w137.00 The cost of a ~ new truck, less the a11o~,~ance for the ola truck tirsrould be X470.85, Iove~. by ~'doods, 50 seconded b y I~ay that the matter of purchasing a truck be left to the Electric Light Comm- ittee with power to act. Carried. Engineer Dillard next ad~:ressed the council and presented tv~ro schedules of rates for consideration by the council. He recommended that the lalr~er rate be adopted,::.and~' that the City defer the building of the dam until 1928. On account of the fire season coming on he thought it advisable to proceed tirith the clei.ring of brush from the reservoir site an new road► he said. i After some discussion it w~+.s moved by '~doads seconded by Thornton that the new water rates be put into effect i~ay 1st, instead of ~'~pril 1st. Garried. r"owed by ~doods seconded by Kay that the matter of checking the r~~tes be left in the hands of the Special Rate Committee and 1~1Ir. ~Tosler. Garried. 51 I' Councilman Peters stated that he and hr. i.errill had investigated the request of MY'. Gunter regarding the tiling of the street near his property and did not think the city Leas under any obligations to furnish the file to keep the v~rater off Is. Gunter's premises. He stated that the Street Commissioner had been instructed to put a culvert in the road sn d to round up the street. t~ j Communication from E.E.H~.le and J.B.Tuttle °egarding the leasing of the dump ground ti=vas reaa but no action s taken. Requisition of E.R.Hosler for supplies for the '~~~ater Dept. amo~~nting to yr456.92 was read. Moved by Peters seconded b y `goods that said requisition be granted.
