The council met at the call of the ~:"ayor at 7:30 o'clock P.l~~. on this date. Present
~~~ayor Pierce; Councilmen Bergner, Kay, Peters, Thornton, ~~dhite Woodsy absent none.
I~Iinutes of the meetings of March 15th, 19th and 22nd v~ere read and approved as read.
roved by Bergner seconded by ~'doods that the Bill of the United States Cast Iron
Pipe and Foundry Co. amounting to X26,935.90 be approved and warrant order~;d drawn in
payment thereof. The vote on the motion eras us follo~~as : eyes Bergner, Kay, Peters, Thornton, ~~hite ~~doods, nays none. Carried.
P.~oved by Bergner seconded by Kay that the Recorder be authorized to transfer X6,000
from the ~1eci;ric Light Fund to the eater ~~dorks Construction Fund as a loan. The vote 57
~~1as as follo~~~s : ryes Bergner, .~~ay, Peters, Thornton, ~~dhite, '~`doods ~ nays none. Carried.

1~~7oved by U~oods seconded by Bergner that the ~~ction of the Street Committee in authoriz~8
ing the sale of the old dump wagons for X15,00 each be approved. Carried.
Councilman Vdhite recommended that the request of C.L.~~Jimer for permission to erect
an electric sign and pole at the corner of Third and I1ain Streets be granted. Councilmen
Thornton and t~~oods expressed themselves as being; opposed to the ez°~ction of any r~ore poles
on I~~;Zain Street. loo action was taken by the council.
Ioved by Thmrriton seconded by ~'Joods that Tuesaay, April 5th, be designated as Clean-
Up Day aid notice be published in the paper at least twice. C~~.rried.
~~~oved by tilloods seconded by Kay that the City attorney be instructed to correspond ti~rith
the Bond attorneys in Portland to ascertain if the legality of the bonds would be affected 59
by their issuance being postponed for a period. Carried.
The hour of B o'clock P.~~Z. having arrived the council proceeded to open the bids
submitted for the X75,000 tGter Bonds and .;x15,000 Lithia Pipe Line Bonds. The bids having
been opened and read it vacs moved by Thornton seconded by ',~dhite that they be referred to the City Attorney anti Finance Committee for checking,
the council to meet at 5 o'clock P.M

~~~oved by Thornton seconded by `~~dhite that the Recorder be instructed to destroy the
y~15,000 issue of Lithia Pipe Line Bonds signed by the former I~~ayor and dated Dec. 1, 1926.

The City Attorney presented the claim of attorney ~~~evaman for 525.00 for representing
I~:r. I~~cTdabb in the Tomlinson c~~se. :4t~oved by Peters seconded by I~~ay that laid 'bj~:~l be
~,llov~~ed and warrant ordered dratirrn in payment thereof. C~:rried. 60
The City rttorney reported the purchase of the 40 acre tract of _.s. Burton in ~shl~nd
Creek Canyon at the tax sale for ,75.00.

The council met pursuant to last adjournment ~t 5 o'clock P.I~i. om this date.
Present ~~~iayor Pierce; Councilmen Bergner, Kay, 'Thornton, Woods; absent Peters, q~dhite.
In accordance with the recommendation of the Finance Committee it was moved by
Bergner seconded by hox°nton that the grid of n. D. tr~~keman Co and '~~'ells Dickey Co. of
;100.655 per X100.00 of bonds and a~~orued interest, interest rate 4 3~4 per cent. for the 61
x;75,000.00 issue of `,dater Bonds be accepted. The vote on the motion was as i'ollows Ayes Bergner, Kay, Thornton, ~'doods; nays none. Carried.
1~,loved by Bergner seconded by Kay that the bid of %ierce Fair ~ Co. of ~n:101.073 for
each 41;100.00 of bonds, and accruea. interest, for the :15,000 issue of Lithia Pipe Line 62
Bonds be accepter. The vote on the motion was as folloa~s: .yes Bergner, Kays Peters,
Woods; nays none. C~:rried.
