Engineer Fillard asked that the council fix a time for the opening of the bias for
clearing the reservoir site. ~~.Zoved by Peters seconded by '~~oo~s that the Recorder be
authorized to advertise for bids for clearing the reservoir site, the bids to be opened

granted. Carried.
The Streit Committee repo~~ted that they had granted the Feaeral Jlectric Co's request
for permission to suspend en electric sign over the center of a:ain Street at its inter-
section with First St.
~lhe request of Frank Salsbury that the City improve the road at the foot of ~~evada
Street was referz°ed to the Street Committee ~~vith pojr~~er to act.
P;~ioved by Thornton seconded by ~~~oods that an ordinance be prepared prohibiting dogs
from running at large ~vithin the city limits. Carried.

The council nett proceeded to consider a resolution entitled "Resolution calling a ~
special election of the electors of the Gity of t~shland, Jr.ckson County, Oregon, to be
held on the 31st day of I~;~ay, 1927. for the purpose of submitting to said electors for ~ ,
their approval or rejection a certain ordinance entitled "An ordinance to require the
Common Council of the City of l~shland to dE~er the construction of a reservoir in t~~sh-
land Creek Canyon and the preliminary vrork in relation thereto, as authorized by rrticle ~ ~YIV of the Charter of said city, until January 1st,
1929, and until such farther time nx,'
thereafter as the ;resent water supply shall, in the discretion of the Common Council, have
been conclusively proved inadequate", in accordance ~~rith the tenor and demand of a certain
Initiative Petition, duly ana regularly filed with the City Recoraer of said City on the
23rd day of ~ipril, 1927, appointing Judges of s«id election, fixing the polling places
and authorizing the City Recoraer to cause due notice of said election to be y~.ublished in E The resolution riavin been
accordance with. the Charter and Ordin~.nces of the s~{id City g
