Dr. Woods presented tha matter of pu~:~ch~~.sing an ambulance for the City, statin that t g
an ambulance claimed to be in excellent condition can be purchased from the City of Zong
Beach, California, for ~~1,000. Tre original price of said ambulance ~T~as stated to be ;x6000. ;~~r.

Petition of 45 freeholders asking that a certain ~-~lley connecting Vists Street and

at Beach Ave. and extending south along said line to a point opposite the~Lane garage be
IIL opened to the public and rr~ade a street, was read and on motion of y'Jooas seconded by Bergner ~
referred to the Street Committee for investigation r.nd report with a view to cpening the

The oouncil next proceeded to consider a petition of the Carter Zans Company asking
that the council take the necessary ste s to vacate that onion of Summit Addition bounded p p
on the north by ~ ark Street, on the east by Terrace Street, on the south by ~.ontana Ai~enue
~ and on the j~~~est by ~~est fork Street, including Summit Street vrithin said boundaries. aY'~oved by White seconded by Kay that the Council advertise
for a hearing on said vacation on J~~1y
5th, 1927, ~.s requested by the petitioners. Carried.
Attorney Yvioore addressed the council stating that i.r. S.J.Bailey wishes to build a
garage on his Y?ro~~erty fronting on ~~e~_de Street, but that it will be impossible for him to r'~ r ~ TT TT ~r.

of goods seconded by Bergner this matter
was referred to the Stre~:t Committee for investigation and report.
Councilman Peters stated that ~e had investigated the claim of ~~~.P. and J.R.B~lis ~ ~ ~ .!'or X100 damages to his alfalfa end thou€ht the claim
exhorbitant. He thought the parties
~ might settle for yr50.00.
~ R Hosier reported ghat he ana P;1r. Zowe had. made a trip to the nshland v°~ater Shed and looked over the ground to be fenced. ~~e presented a
diagram shoti~ding the plan for
III rebuilding the fiance. r`~fter some discussion it was moved by Peters seconded by goods that the fence be built or repaired in its present location
and patrolled if necessary.
The vote way as follows: Ayes Bergner, Peters, Kay, ~~hite, '~~oods; nays none. Carried.
x The matter of the dump ground contract was again discussed and a proposed agreement F~'
between Y.~r. Dodson and ~~s. Orthuys read but no action was taken. ~r
The matter of renting the Roby douse on past I~~,iain Street to ~~'~s. Gregg for ;6.00 a
12o month was referred to t~le Realty Committee.

uospital for the year 1926. .~Foved by T'~foods seconded by ~'eters that the report be accepted
with thanks and ordered placed on file. Carried.

Dr. Swedenburg and vdill Dodge c do ressed the Council r egardin6:° the purchLse of an
ambulance. T;-oved by I-floods seconded by Peters that the matter of purchasing an ambulance
for the City be opened up again and that the Council consider the aroposition of Dr.
Swedenburg regarding the X1000 ambulance. Carried. -.roved by Toods seconded by Kay that ~b
the accept the proposition of Dr. S.%;redenburg to furnish the balance of the money necessary to purchase the w1000 ambulance now in Long Beach. The
vote ~-:~s as follows: Ayes Bergner,

Communication from George P. King asking that the aJ_ley between Vista Street and Beeeh Avenue be opened was re~.d.

I'Ir. Peters reported that hlr. and less. Bayliss will.; settle with the City for damages

~,~ss. G.I~r~.Zoi~~e addressed the ~o~n~rt regarding the opening of alley asking that 'the a1fe~;~
be laid out so 4:.s to avoid the cutting of certain trees and shrubs belonging to his clients.
