P,~ellor regarding the purchase of a small tract of land belou~r the CroyArson Hill Reservoir and stated that she would not consider anything below X400.00. The council decided to take no action at this time. The matter of repairing the City Hall roof was discussed but no action was taken. The City Attorney reported that he had ~:ired Senator ~~cNary anti ~:Ir Hawley regarding the matter of introducing a bill providing for the sale of timber land in the ~.shland 'eater Shed. ; Mr. H~.wley, he said, suggested that the City of Ashland prepare a bill similar to that of the City of Portland and fory~rard the same to him. lifter some discussion it was moved by Bergner seconded by Kay that City Attorney vJm. T~. Briggs and I~~Iayor Thornton be authorized to go to the Portland at the expense of the City to interview ~~Ir. Grant, City Attorney of Portland, and dir. Portland Branch, Portland, The bids for cement were each "3.57 per bag in car lots f.o.b. .Ashland, with the exception of the bid of Henry Cowell Lime & Cement Co. which was "3.37 per sack.
