By letter of March 11, 1999, the Engineer informed the Contractor of the need to construct an influent junction box at the Headworks, to provide a common meeting point for incoming raw sewage gravity lines and force mains, and to allow easier connection of any future pipelines. By letter dated April 5, the Contractor submitted proposed costs of $52,055.00. In a subsequent letter dated May 5, the Engineer modified the proposed work to lower the costs. The Contractor submitted revised proposed costs of $41,758.00 in a May 21 letter. After discussions, the Contractor's costs were further revised to $40,799.00; by letter of May 25, the Engineer informed the Contractor that this amount would be included in a forthcoming change order. RFP-66 Revise Monorail Rail Size. By letter of April 6, 1999, the Engineer informed the Contractor that the size of the monorail system rail in the RASANAS Pump Station needed to be increased. In a letter dated April 13, 1999, the Contractor submitted proposed costs of $1,237.00 for this revision. Following discussions, the Contractor revised his proposed costs to $1,179.00; by letter of April 28, the Engineer informed the Contractor that this amount would be included in a forthcoming change order. RFP-67 Delete Thermostat in RAS/VVAS Pump Station Lower Level. By letter of April 6, 1999, the Engineer informed the Contractor that a thermostat for the supply and exhaust fans in the lower level of the RAS/WAS Pump Station was incorrectly shown and should be deleted. In an April 9, 1999 letter the Contractor proposed that this be a "no-cost" change. After review, the Engineer informed the Contractor by letter of April 9, 1999 that this would be included in a forthcoming change order as such.
