HomeMy WebLinkAbout1512 Annexing Norwood & Officer Properties ORDINANCE NO. = A-y An ordinance annexing certain territory to the City of Ashland, Jackson County, Oregon, and dispensing with an election in the territory to be annexed. WHEREAS, the Common Council has heretofore elected to dispense with submitting to the registered voters of the City the question of annexing the hereinafter described property, and WHEREAS, said property to be annexed is contiguous with the present boundary line of the City of Ashland and WHEREAS, the sole owners of such territory to be annexed have heretofore consented in writing to such annexation and filed the same with the legislative body of this City, and WHEREAS, due and legal notice has been published and posted calling a public hearing on the 2nd day of May, 1967, at 8:00 P.M. on such question of annexation, and WHEREAS, having held such hearing, the Common Council having deemed it in the best interests of the City of Ashland and the territory to be annexed to annex said territory to the City of Ashland, NOW, THEREFORE, THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That no election on the question of annexing the hereinafter described property shall be held within the territory to be annexed. Section 2. That there shall be, and hereby is, annexed to the City of Ashland the following described property, to-wit: Beginning at the Southeast corner of the Norwood Subdivision in the City of Ashland, Jackson County, Oregon; thence North 89©11' West along the North line of said subdivision 175.0 feet; thence South -1- 0°12' West 324.0 feet to a point which lies 30 feet North of the South line of Lot 33 of Bellevue Tracts in Section 15, Township 39 South, Range 1 East of the Willamette Meridian, Jackson County, Oregon; thence South 89°48' East 235.0 feet to the Easterly line of Park Street; thence North 0°12' East along said Easterly line 1015.24 feet to the Northwest corner of Lot 6 of Block 6 of the Terra Linda Sub- division in the City of Ashland, Jackson County, Oregon; thence South 89°48' East 153.05 feet; thence North 0°12' East 20.0 feet; thence North 89°48' West 213.05 feet to the Westerly line of Park Street; thence South 0°12' West along said Westerly line 711.96 feet to the point of beginning. Section 3. That the City Recorder is hereby authorized and directed to submit to the Secretary of State a copy of this ordinance, a copy of the heretofore mentioned notice of hearing and a copy of the written consent of the owners of the territory annexed. The foregoing ordinance was duly passed, under a suspension of the rules, at a regular meeting of the Common Council held on the day of Mav, 1967, the vote being as follows: Ayes Nays Approved: T `~f 1 Ida or To all of which I hereby certify: r ,r r Recorder
