The council met in regular session at 7:30 o'clock P.M. on this date. Present Mayor Thornton; Councilmen Bergner, Peters, Wbi~ds; absent Blake Kay, White. The readi~~g of the minutes and reports of City officers was dispensed with. Bills O,K'd by the Finance Committee, amounting to X16,148.89, were read in total amount only. Motion was made and seconded that said bills be allowed and warrants orderied M drawn in payment thereof. d'~ie vote e~~as as follows : Ayes Bergner, Peters, Woods; nays none. Carried. Councilman u~loods reported that Mr. Goggins and Mr. Livingston had reached an agreement regarding the matter of leasing part of the Livingston tract. After some discussion it was moved by Bergner seconded by Moods that the Park Board be requested to make a full investigation of conditions in the park and rP~~rt to the council at their next meeting and if they find there is need of dxtra-..police protection that they ask for it. Carried. On motion of Bergner seconded by Woods that the matter of instalYing a phone at the dump ground be left to the Nayor with power to act. Carried unanimously. A N1r. Goggins reported that he had been informed that the Carter land is not for sale. On motion, the council adjourned to meet at the fall of the Mayor. ,~n... Thy council met at the call of the Mayor at 7:30 o'clock P.M. on this date. present Mayor Thornton; Councilmen Bergner, Kay, Peters, White, Woods; absent Blake. The reading of the minutes was dispensed with. Reports of C. A. Malone for the month of June, 1928, and report of G.G.Eubanks for the quarter ending June 30th 1928, were read and, on motion, accepted and ordered placed on file. Bills O.K'd by the Finance Committee, amounting to X16,566.57, were read in total amount only. Motion was made and seconded that said bills be allowed and warrants ordered drawn in payment thereof. The vote on the motion was as follows: Ayes, Bergner, Kay, Peters, '~hite, Woods; nays none. Carried. Councilman White stated that the Street Committee had agreed on a route for the gravel trucks but it was not satisfactory to Mr. Bryant: who eiaimed this would cost them at least X1,000 more than the route through the park. This matter having been referred to the Street Committee with power to act, at a previous meeting, the council declined to take any action. .x The Mayor stated that H.C.St~ock asked that he be given a grade for the sidewalk in front of his North Fain Street property. Motion was made and seconded that this matter be left to the Street Committee with power to act. Carried. The Blask and ';~hite Service Station asked for permission to erect an electric sign s the post to be placed on their own property. Moved by Bergner seconded by White that the request be referred to the Street Committee with power to act and that Mr. Malone be requested to pass on the safety of the sign. Carried. Frank Jordan next made a verbal report on the park situation, stating that the Park Board had been unable to get any evidence. He suggested that a plain clothes man be n1 ACP.d nn duty in the nark for a month. It was moved by Woods seconded by 'Nhite that  the report of Mr. Jordan be accepted. Carried. The matter of appointing a eater Inspector was discussed and, on motion of Bergner seconded by Kay, left to the Mayor and Water Supt.
