Present E ~ Mayor Thornton; Councilmen Bergner, Blake, Kay, Peters, Woods, also Park Commissioners Frank Jordan, Louis Podge, V~. H. ~:~cNair, A. C . rdininger and S. A. Peters, Jr., absent Councilman ~lJhite. ' The rY~ayor read a telegram from C. F Peake of Los Angeles, in which he asks that the Mayor and Council and Park Commissmon pass a resolution granting to the Lithia Park -{olding Corporation a 90 day option for the leasing of a portion of the park ~'Qr sanitarium purposes. After some discussion the council proceedeu to consider a resolution entitled "Resolution gra~~ting to the Lithia Park Holding Corporation a 90 day option for the leasing of approxima- tely 40 acres of Lithia Park heroin mentioned for a ~0 year term for sanitarium purposes, subject to the approval of the people of the City of Ashland, the tentative terms being set forth herein." Moved by ','foods s~;eonded by Blake that the rules be suspended and the resolution be passed to the second reading by title Only. C~.rried. The resolution having been read the second time it was moved by y'Joods seconded by Kay that the resolution be adopted as read. The vote v,~as as follows : Ayes Bergner, Blake, Kay, Peters, '~ood.e; nays none. "'hereupon the ~~~ayor declared the resolution adopted. S After some discussion it was moved by Bergner seconded by Kay that the City Attorney be authorized to write advertising matter to promote the measures approved and submitted to the electors ~y the council. On motion of Peters seconded by Kay the matter of repairing the roof of the old Fourth Street Fire Station Buildir~s~ eras ref~'rred to the Realty Committee for investigation drld r°epart.
