Present Mayor Thorrtorl; Councilmen Bergner, Blake, ,Kay, Peters, 'Nhite, foods and F. J. S~^rer~ning, J. H. ~rLcGee, S. Butler A. F. Kinney and G. 'rJ Dunn of the Budget Committee. Absent T. H. Simpson a.nd u. G. B'nders. Jr. The Mayor appointed V. Jones ar.d B. 1'. Staples to fill the vacancj:es on:~the Budget Committee. k r~; ~~otion made and seconded that G• '~`f. Dunn be appointed Chairman of the Committee. Carried. Motion was made and seconded that 1. Staples be appointed Secretary. Carried. The proposed budget for the year 1929, as approved by the Council at their meeting held Nov. 2nd, was presented by Councilman Bergner. ~~oved by Buther seconded by '.woods that the estimated Budget for the General Dept. for the year 1929 be adopted. Carried. Moved by ~.~1cGee seconded by Staples that the estimated Budget for the Street Dept. for the ye~r 1929 be adopted. Report of C. l.`alone for the month of October, 1`928, was read and, on motion, accepted and ordered placed on file. Bills O,K'd by the Finance Committee, amounting to X74,905.87 were reed in total amount only. r~!~otion was made and seconded that s~--id bills be allo~r;~ed and warrants ordered drawn in payment t~iereof. Com~::unicatia:~ from the Ore,;°on State Board of health recommending that the City purchase a testinr~ set with vrhict: to make tests for free chlorine at the po4xrer house, was read. Report of Fr~gineF~r Dillard on the progress at Reeder Gulch Dam was read and, on motion, accepted and ordered placed on file. Councilman '~'fhite reported that the ~~rork of draining and repairing Ttiorth l~,rain Street j is under way, also the repairing of the streets by the P~.rker-Schr~.m Company.  Councilman `hoods reported thLt he had >r to ,epair the roof of the old Fourth Street Fire Station 7uilding at a cost of ;x5.00 or X10.00. On recommendation of T-Ir. Petei°s motion was made and seconded that the City grant free water and lights to Jan. 1, 1~9 to the Steqart and Scofield families. Carried.
