Councilman Bergner reported than: `;r. nicks of Tr'edford has offered to donate a granite
slab for adve~t~sing the lithia ~~rater a~ld Ashland G~~°anite. I~~ayor :~~hornton favored the use
of a bronze plate to be attached to the fountain. After some discussion the i~.yor appointed
a corr~nit~~ee consisting of Bergner, '~la'~e and Clayco~nb to get esti~~ates on tl~Ae cost of a
bronze plate or some other sign. 'I'he matter of putting up a sign on the Plaza directing
jug Tillers to the park ti£das also Fez"er~~ed to this committee.

I'~equet of the East Side Grocery for permission to install a .gasoline service pump
in i'ront of t~~eir store tiaras read. ~~aoved by Hersey seconded by `i~aylor that the request
ae granted, the pump to be installed under the su~nervision of the Street Committee and
Fire Chien". Carried.
On r ecommenda;~ion of -~~yor :~:hornton, ~~'iesley lamb eras granted free tiArater and lights
to July 1, 1:2~.
Petition signed by 31 residents of the Bellvievr District requesting the Council to
sell them ~drater for domestic use was read.Lhe City Attorney preented a ~~lritten opinion
regarding the several ~°~ays in ~~hich the City might furnish the ~ellvie;°Y residents grater
for domestic use, and pointed out ~.ifficulties that might be encountered. ~'~ft~r some
aiscussi.on it was moved by Bergner seconded by r1e-aner that the council advise the pe-
titioners that the City will build the pipe line to the city limits but that all extensions
outside the city limits will have to be built by the persons of 'ected. Carried
unanimously.
The request of L. 14, y'ankey for water for domestic use was main considered. It
