Ashland, Oregon, August 12, 1929. a
The council r~et at the call of the Imlayor at 7:30 o'clock P.~~~7, on the evening of this
date. Present I~~~ayor Thornton; Councilmen B~r~ner, Hersey, 4'~enner; absent Blake, Claycomb, Tayler.
The City Attorney read a proposed agreement bet~~een the City of Ashland acid The
Bellview Co-operative ~`~ater Association whereby the City agrees to furnish water for
domestic purposes only to the shareholders of said Association. Loved by dktenner,
seconded by Kersey that the I.~~ayor and Recorder be instructed tv sign said contract. The
vote was as follows ; Ayes Bergner, Kersey, ~'~enner; na~~s none. Carried.
After some discussion it ti~las moved by Bergner seconded by ~tienner that the City
Recorder be ins Uructed to advertise for bids for gravel, crushed ~COCk and sand for a
period of tt~ro years ending June 30, 1931. Carried.
I~`oved by ','~enner seconded~by Ber~,ner that the bill of E.T.Staples for~premiumton
insurance on city cars, amoun~ing to w~,26.00, be approved ana warrant ord~red dratrn in ~f payment thereof. Carried unanimously.
On motion, the council adjourned subject to call of the I~y~.yor.

Cor~nunication from Arnold Bennett r~~all of the University of Oregon, requesting
permission for a Dollar Drive in Ashland to be put on by the Oregon I~~others, was read.
i4~oved by Claycomb seconded by b'enrier that the Oregon ~~_~others be askew. to postpone
their drive in Ashland to some future date. Carried.

salary of~,250.00 per month. ~~~Ioved by Claycomb seconded by I~~e~sey that the appointments
and salaries by cony"firmed. Carried unanimously. r
T~Foved by 4~'enner seconded by Kersey that the Is~ayor be authorized to sign the proposed li: agreement ~iaith the Forest Service. Carried unanimously.
