The council met at the call of the ,~ayor a,t 7 :30 o'clock B.~;i. on this d ate. Present ~~~yor Thornton; Councilmen Bergner, Blake: Mersey, 'Sdenner; absent Claycornb, Tayler. The time having arrived for the final heariLlg on the Budbet for the year 1930, aid no one appearing to make objection thereto, the council proceeded to consider a proposed city ordinance entitled "Ordinance levying a tax for the year 1929 in the sum of X74,019.50 upon all the real and personal propeity subject to assessment and levy v~rithin the limits of the City of y°~:shland: Jackson County, Oregon, said levy to be made up of the particular appropriations mentioned herein." The ordinance having been read the first time, on motion, the rules ~~ere suspended, four voting in favor thereof, and the ordinance tirdas passed to the second r ending. ~~aving been read the second time, roll call was. ordered on its adoption. The vote was as follows: Ayes • Bergner, Blake, Mersey, ~'~enner; nays none.
