Ashland, Oregon, Dec . 3 , 192 9.
The council met in regular session at 7:30 o~clock 1.1rI. on this date. Present
Mayor Thornton; Councilmen Bergner, Make, Claycomb, Hersey, Tayler, n'~enner; absent none.
~~nutes of the previous meeting were reo.d and approved as read.
Bills O.K'd by the Finance Committee, were read. in total amxount only. notion was
made and. seconded that said bills be allo~~~~ed and ararrants ordered dra~Rrn in payme~lt thereof.
The vote t~ras as follows : Ayes- Berner, Blake, Claycomb, Hersey, Tayler, :'denner; nays none
Carried.
A~ The following applications for building permits ~~~ere next considered:

l:~otion was made and seconded that said perr~its be gW~,nted. Carried una:~.imously.
Bill of J. F. ~itsworth amounting to ;3.35, for drain tile, ~~~s referred to the Street
Committee.
On recommendation of Councilman Bergner it ~1as moved by Blake seconded by ~~'enner that
Improvement Bonds ~~ros. 900, 903, and 904, amounting to ;512.28, be purchased by the Cemetery
Trust Fund and that Improvement Bonds ios. 901 and 902, amounting to E~600.00 be purchased
by the Blectric Zight Depreciation I~'und. Carried unanimously. 4;
Councilman Blake reported that he had investigated the complaint of B. u~~. Hoti~=~e11,
regarding damages to his property and fruit trees caused by water from the ditch, and
thought ~s. Howell should receive some damages. ~.~otion `gas made and seconded thatl~r.
Ho~rell be allot~red ~~50.00 der;ages. Carried. unanimously.
F. H. ~'~alker presented a plat s'r~o~~ring the proposed bridge over Bear Creek, recom~'nended a by the County Court. This matter ti~as aiscussed
but no action tivas tal~en.
T~Totion i~as zlade and seconded that the 'e`ater .uepartment be authorized to install a
fountain in the park ro~a in Front of the ~or:~.al Grounds, to meet ;~~ith Churchill ~s
approval. Carried.

~_:he council next proveeded to consider a proposed city ordinance entitled "An ordin-
ance requiring the B2corder of the City of Ashlan~, Oregon, to notify the County ~~ssessor
and County Clerk of the County of Jaclrson, State of Oregon, of all delinquent special benefit assessments and daeket~;d cit~T liens, together Frith
inter _~st and penalties thereon,
as required by Section 2 of Article l2 of the Charter of said City." The ordinance having
been read the first time, on motion, the rules ryere suspended, six voting in favor thereof,
and. the ordinance ~i~sv Ass-ed too the. second readin~~. ::Haying b~e~:.~e~d the second time, roll
call ~7as ordered on its adoption. the vote ~~ias as follo~rs ; Ayes Bergner. Blake, Claycomb,
Mersey, Tayler, ~~~enner; nays none.
Thereupon the '~ayor declared City Ordinance ?o. 878 adopted.
