Bills O.H'd by the Finance Committee, amounting to X15,55'7.97, were read in total
amount only. ~:~otion was m^.de and seconded that said bills be allov~ed and warrants ordered
drawn in payment ther:~for. The vote was as follovis : ayes Blake, Tayler, '~~'enner; nays
none. Carried.
Bill of the '.`Whittle Transfer Co. for moving a piano to and from the Band stand
~ in the Park, amounting to ~~10.00, was presented. ~.rotion ~jras made ar~d seconded that said
bill be allo~~Ted and warrant ordered dravm in payrn~°nt thereof. Carried.

Communication from Leland J. Isnox slaking spplication for the engager~~ent of auditing
the records of the City of Ashland for the year 1931 was read and referred to the Finance
Committee by the 2~ayor.
4~~ Communication from the Mate Fire .h:rshal requesting that un ordinance governing the
parking of gas trucks on the streets ue passed vaas refers°ea to the Fire Committee.
Request for the program for the coming year, covering proposed projects to be
ay~rarded or already Iet was referred to the City Attorney and City Engineer. ~ ;
~ Communication reporting the appointrsent of Dr. Smith as County Sanitary Engineer was
referred to the Sanitary ComrIlittee.
Request from I~~~.nufacturing .and Zerchants Association of Oregon asking th~~.t the City
f make a reduction of at least 15~ in alb. salaries was referred to the ~'in~~,nce Committee.

The council neat proceeded to consider a proposed cit~r ordinance entitled "Ordinance
levying special benefit assessment for the construction of a sewer in Sewer District Ito. 34 in the City of Ashland, Oregon." The ordinance having been
re~~.d the first time,
on motion, the~rules vrere suspended, three voting in favor thereof, and the ordinance v~ras
passed to the second reading. ~~aving been re~.d the second time, roll call was ordered on
its adoption. The vote vras as follows ; Ayes Blake, Tayler, ~'lenner; ns:cys none..
Thereupon the ~r~Zayor declG red City Ordinance I~To. 894 adopted.
The council next proceeded to consider a proposed city ordinance entitled ''Ordin~:nce
levying special benefit assessrent ~_or the construction of a cement sidewalk in what is knovrn as Sidewalk District No. 5 in the City of Ashland: Oregon."
The ordinance
having been read the first time, on motion, the rules t~:•ere suspended, three voting in
favor thereof and the ordin~~.nce was passed to the second reading. Having: been read the
second time, roll call was ordered on its adoption. The vote was as follov~s: Ayes Blake,
ti-~' Tayler, ~~Wenner; nays none.
Thereupon the :'~rayor deckre~ City Ordinance ~~o. 895 adopted.
