The r~esolu~onhaving been. read the first time, on motion, the rules were suspended,
~ ;M six voting in favor thereof, ~.nd the t°esolution was passed to the second reading. Having
been real the second time, roll call was ordered on its adoption. The vote was as
follo~~rs : Ayes Bergner, Blake, Claycomb, Hersey, ti'lenr~er; nays Tayler,
Thereupon the lw~,yor declared the resolution adopted,
The council next proceeded to consider a proposed resolution entitled "Resolution
ordering the construction of cement sidewalks, curbs and emulsified asphalt paving in
s~ Paving District lao. 8 herein described, wherein said sidewalks, curbs and paving are not
~w" already laid; auth~~rizing the said construction ti~rork to be done under the supervision
of the City Engineer and. tiFrithout the letting of bids therefor; and providing for the
payment of the costs of said improvements by assessment against the property benefited thereby." The resolution was read the first time only.

On motion, the council adjourned subject to call of the b~ayor.

Councils of Ashland, ~,-Tedford, G-rants Fass, Roseburg and Eugene and Cold bill and County Courts of Zane, Douglas, Jackson and Josephine Counties,
urging the Oregon
