Communication from the County Clerk staying that the County Court hac~ refused to
pay the se~~•er assessment levied by the City against the Couxity's proper°ty on y'~ightman 7 Street was read and, on motion referred to the City
~'atorney.

Opinion of t;~e State Treasurer as to the advisability of the p~~~h~~.se by the City
of '10,000 of Talent Irrigation District bonds was read,
rihe council next proce~eaed to consider a ~roposea city ordinance entitled ~TOr~in-
ance vacating the plat of Grandview edition to the City of Ashland, Oregon, subject
to rights of v~ray for pipe linesr~ se~~~~er lines anc electric po~~r~er lines, and provided
that nothing contained herein shall affect ~"olly Street, ~~ltomont `atreet, and Harrison
Streit as sho~r~~m on said plat, a.n~. provia.ing for the certification of a copy of th+s
ordinance to the County Clem of dac~~son County, Oregon." The ordinance ti~as'.r~ad she

Utilities calling attention to Sec. 3 Chapter 58, Oregon Tav~,Ts of 1930, in ~~hich officers in charge of municipally oti^~lned plants are requi~~°ed

written esti gate of the e~~pense of maintenance ana. oper~:tion, cost of carltemplated
im~rovemPnts, etc. eras read. `s'he Committee asked for a copy of the report. This
matter was referred to the City :attorney and Supt. of the ":~lec ~~ric Department v~ith
instructions to make the report re~,uested and to refer the s~~me to the Council.
