r~'he Council met in regular session at 7:30 o'clock I'. on this date. Present:
Nfayor Thornton, Councilmen Bergner, ~~ilake, Claycomb, ue~sey, Tayler. a~.bsent : i1jenner.
~'inutes of tie previous meeting were approved.
y` Bills O.K'd by the Finance Committee, amounting to X5,946.54, were read in total
amount only. T~otion was made and seconded that said bills be allo~~t~ed ana warrants
ordered drati~n in payment thereof. The vote was as follov~rs : Ayes- Bergner, Blake,
Claycomb, Hersey, Tayler. I~~ays-none. Carried.
Petition signed by residents of I~~~rgadine Street, asking the council to indefinitely
F postpone the order for the paving and improver~ent of said street, was read. ~~'~oved by

as requested. Carried unanimously.
Councilman Claycomb requested the City Attorney to take up ~~rith the highway
Commission the matter of patching the highway through Ashland.
The ~~ayor reported that he had helped in small amounts certain indigent families
txTith children, at the City's expense. It was moved by Bergner seconded by Tayler that
the action of the I~~a~Tor in handling indigents be approved. Carried unanimously.
The council next proceeded to consider a resolution repviding for the construction
of a sewer in Sep°Yer District No. 37. The resolution having been read the first time, on motion, the ruled were suspended, five voting in favor
thereof, and the resolution
4xras passed to the second reading. Having been read the second time, roll call was
ordered on its adoption. "he vote was as follows: Ayes- Bergner, Blake, Claycomb:
Hersey, Tayler. ~~ays-none. Thereupon the I~~ayor declared the resolution adopted.

be cut off of all light and poti°rcr users 60 days or r,~ore in arrears. Carried unanimously.

' He said the calls for help wera steadily increasing and the funds available were ae-
c~~~easing and the .~ission was no longer able to take care of all the families calling
for help. He asked that the city give the 'fission aid, if possible. 'T'he natter was discussed but no action was taken at this time.
J. N11. Wauchope presented prices on a carload of electric light poles. it was
moved by Bergner seconae- by Blake that the Elec---ric Light Department be authorized
to purchase a carload of poles from the L. D. McFarland Co, the log°,:-est bidder, for $842.52. The vote on the motion was as follows: Ayes-
Bergner, Blake, Clayc9mb, 4
Hersey, Taylerig Wenner; nays none. Carried.
