~ The council met in regular session at 7 :30 0' clock P.a~~7. on this date. Present ~~ayor Thornton; Councilmen Bergner, Blake, Clayco,b, Hersey,
Tayler, 'k,~enner; absent none.
I~;Zinutes of the meetings of June 21st and 28th were approved.
Bills O.~L'd by the Finance Committee, amounting to ~~6,396.38, were read in total amount
only. 'potion was made and seconded :*.hat said bills be allowed ahd warrants ordered dracYn in
payment thereof. The vote on the motion eras as fol~o~.s: Ayes- Bergner, Blake, Clayeomb,
Hersey, Tayler, ~~Jenner; nays none. Carried.
Bills for fencing the Elks pen in the Park ~hTere presented. ~~~otion was made and seconded
that said bills be allowe~. an~~ paid from the _Emergency Fund, the amount of said bills being
196.61.
Councilman Clayeomb brought up the matter of purchasing a mov,~er for mowing the high
grass in the streets. He said a good rno~rer could be boubht far 35.00. After some discussion it ti'4'~s moved by Bergner seconded by Blake that
the Street Committee be authorized to buy tY~e
mower provided it works and they use it after they get it. Carried.
On motion of Blake seconded by Tayler~iss Cora Baldwin was granted fr. ee water and lights
to Jan. 1, 1933.
The council again discussed the matter of the unsanitary condition of the property occu- pied by ?~,Tr. Hamilton on A Street, It was moved by Tayler
seconded by ~Jenner that the matter
of putting the place in a sanitary condition be left to the Sanitary Committee and Vdater
Superintendent.

~~oved by Bergner seconded by Blake that Viwtiders be appointed to assess the special bene-
f~ts in Sever District Teo. 3~, provided waivers are not signed by the interested property
owners.
The Zight Department presented a requisition fc~r copper wire amounting to X665.75. On
motion of Clayeomb seconded by Blake the reauitision was granted, all voting in favor thereof.
On motion, the council adjourned subject to call of the ~~.iayor.

Reports of C. J. Baughman, E. R. Hosler, C. ~d. Clause, B. E. Hicks, E'. F. Cooper, J.~q.
t~dauchope and the ~.Iission for the momth of June, 1932, were read. and, on motion, accepted and ordered placed on file.
I~x. Baughman reported that the dry grass had been on 33 plots of ground and four men
had been employed. M.q
~~r. Hosler reported that approximately four miles of fire trails had been cut in the
watershed at a cost of about ;300.00 to date.
Pr~ayor Thornton stated that approval of private patrol of the Ashland ~~atershed had bear
received from the Oregon State Board of Forestry and that this land vrill be exempt from
assessment costs of patrol and fire supression beginning with the year 1932.
~a~r. Cooper reported that the t~~~ork of patching the pavement is nearing completion.

On motion of Ta'enner, seconded by Blake, the ~,~uyor and Recorder were suthorized to sign the deed deeding the Cit~~'s lot at the corner of Van
I1ess Avenue ana haurel Street to E. R.
Hosler and Z~<ura Hosler.
I:-roved by Clayeomb seconded by tt~~enner that the Mayor be authorized to sign the ageee-
went with Fred C. Homes and Suzanne Homes Carter covering the ~~ermanent adjust7r~ent of the
right to the use of the grater of To3~man Sulphue Spring. Carried unanimously.
The 'Dill of rairbanks ~-gorse ~ Co. for an analysis and reporU covering an auxiliary
power plant was presented but no action wa taken thereon.
On motion, the council adjourned an.bjeet to call of the r;~yor.
