Cooper and F. C. Biegel for the month of Oct., 19~~2, were read and, on motion, accpetea ana ordereu placed on file. The council met in regular session at '7:30 o'cloc?~L P.l. on this date. Present Mayor Thornton; Councilmen 31ake, Claycomb, Hersey, Tayler, ~;~~enner; absent Bergner. I~linutes oi' tree meetings of I~rov. 15 and Tdov. 22nd, ~°~e~~e approved. Reports of C. J. Baughman and B. Hicks, for the month of ~Tov., 1932, were read and, on motion, accepted and ordered placed on file. Bills O.I~'d by the Finance Cor~rnittee, amounting to X7,8'71.37, Caere read in total amount only. ~~iotion ti~aas made and seconded that said bills be allowed and ~xaarrants ordered drawn in payment thereof. 1'he vote was as follo~as: dyes- Blake, Claycomb, Hersey, Tayler, 'r`aenner; bays- none. Carried. The City Attorney stwted that he was o~~ the opinion that the City had not received its proper proportion of the interest collected by the Sheriff on delinquent taxes and liens and suggested that steps be taken to check up the amount collected. The Mayor appointed the Finance Committee and City Attorney to look into the m~~tter .~.n~. to y~°eport bat'. at the next meeting. The council next ~~roceeded to consider a proposed City Ordinance entitled "An ordinance requiring the Recorder of the Cit~r of Ashland, Oregon, to notify the County Assessor and County Clerk of the County of Jackson, State of Oregon, of all delinquent special benefit assessments and docketed city liens, together with interest and penalties thereon, as required by Section 2 of ~~rticle 12 of the Charter of said City." The , ordinance having been read the first time, on motion, the r,ales were suspended, five voting in favor thereof, and the ordinance was passed to the second reading. Having been a read the second ti'n~e, roll call was ordered on its adoption. The vote was as follows: eyes Blake, Claycomb, Hersey, Tayler, r'renner; nays none. Thereupon the Mayor declared Ordinance No. 912 adopted. No one appeared to object to the assessments in Sewer Dist Ho. 37.
