Becember 13, 1933. The council met in special session at 7;30 P. hks. this date. Present Mayor Ailey; Councilmen Bergner, Clayeomb, Gregg, Lininger, Tayler, Benner; absent none. The purpose of the meeting was to arrive at some agreement between the California h g p y the City of Ashland and the local dealers in electrical applian- Ore on Power Com an ; ces as tc the sale of appliances thru a co-operative store locates at the city hall, NIr. Thompson and Mr. Jackson were present from The California Oregon Power Company, and Guy Good and Sam Jordan represented the local dealers. It was brought out during the discussion that the City of Ashland had a very 1o~r record for consumption of electrical Y energy per customer. Bedford having 2200 ~H pPr customer per year; Grants Pass, 1900 ~ and Ashland having a little over 400 KNH per oust©mer per year. A tentative agree- went was arrived at, which was to be outline in detail and submitted for final approval for all concerned. The meeting then adjourned. '~4' f a A Attest: yor scor er. The minutes of previous meetings were approved. Reports for the month of November from the Street, eater, Light, Librarian and Recorder were read, acceptea and ordered placed on file. Attorney VanDyke reported on the case of the City vs Holmes. A petition from the Ashland Park Commission requesting that the electric sign for the auto camp be replaced was upon motion by Bergner, seconded by ~~'enner referred to the Street Committee for a definite plan. Carried. Standing Committee Reports: Finance: None. Mater: Gregg stated that the Water Committee recommended that Dr. Knapp be authorized to geT a dank and fill with Lithia water when the demand was small for use in giving baths at his office in the Lithia Hotel. Moved by?'enner that.the recommendation be accepted and a contract drawn. Seconded by Bergner, Carried. Street: Walker reported on his efforts in obtaining a right away thru the Walls property on Ferrate Street.
