i. ~ ~ rY ~ ~ This was a joint r~~eeting o1 one ~lt~ council and the ~~lty Manning commission held to
discuss the subject of the r'ederal ~mergeney belief Administration. ~Ir. Carpenter, chairman
of the F.E.R.A. for Jaehson County spoke regarding the workings of this organization, ans~rer-
ing questions, ana outlining the proceedure in obtaining funds for this work. He pointed out
that federal fun~.s would not ~e available ~"or ~~aterial ar any purely municipal functions and
that the City would have to past she Mate Industrial a~ceident Insurance covering all the workers.
. There being no further uusiriess to corrle before it, the council adjourned to meet at the
call of the ~~ayor.

A bill for X2000.00 fror~~ the Talent Irrigation District, ~1000.UO being due now was

ordered, the vote being--ayes 4; Trays 0, carried. Bills totaling ~I25.19 for labor on clean-

Perry Bentley spoke regarding the lettering; on the recorder's Office and showed
samples of letters. '.i'he matter was referred to the Light Superintendent.

The question of raise in pay for two risen with the Street Department and one with the ~l
Light Department was brought up. 1"~oved by Treg that the three men be paid 40¢ per hour
instead of 35¢x, effective ipril 1st. Seconded by 3ergner, carried.
On motion, the council adtjourned to meet at the call of the Idayor.
