So yes, we would like to make sure that 10 are included in the order for the plaza for Parks, and Ann, let me know if we can be included in your contract for our part - I will be happy to provide an account number for you for our part of the order. Thanks for all the work and coordinatingwith us! Jeff From: Tim Elbert [mailto:tim@fourseasonsnurseryonline.com] Sent: Monday, January 23, 2017 4:13 PM To: Ann Seltzer; Jeff McFarland Subject: RE: Hanging Baskets .Ann and Jeff I'm sorry for the confusion, the total is per basket for the entire 6 month contract, not per week or month, and includes the cost of the basket, the hanging and removal and all maintenance (daily or weekly depending on contract). Last year the parks paid for the baskets and the city paid for the maintenance. The basket cost did not go up, only the labor. This means that the Parks would still pay the same amount ($80 per basket) and the city would pay the remainder ($106 per basket). This is a $10 per basket increase over last year. The daily maintenance is $325 per basket which is a $25 per basket increase. The reason for the increase is to be able to pay our basket maintenance crew a living wage so we can keep them hired. I'm sure you will agree that Dave has been doing a good job and we would be sorry to lose him. We try to keep the program as close to cost as possible to make it affordable for the cities, so increases are hard to absorb. We invested in a new water truck last year and turned it's crane into a watering boom. It has helped us reduce the time out on the route and made it easier for the watering crew. Let me know if you have any more questions. Or are you saying that each basket costs $325 plus an addition $185 per basket for weekly maintenance. That is a substantial change from previous years. Last year the parks department sponsored 10 hanging baskets for the plaza downtown. We are beginning the planning process for this year's program and I am checking to see if you will be participating again this year? The cost for the basket program has gone up slightly over last year, our first increase since the program began eight years ago. Following are the options: Per basket: Weekly maintenance: $185/ month Daily Maintenance: $325/ month Both programs include watering, inspecting, trimming as needed, fertilizing and insect control (organic only). Daily includes daily watering whereas weekly only includes once per week. We would like to get a confirmation by February 28th if possible. If you have any questions please let me know.
